Who is Veronica Tejera? Dax Tejera's wife ARRESTED for child endangerment just hours after he died
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ABC News producer Dax Tejera's wife Veronica Tejera was arrested for allegedly endangering their two little daughter at a Manhattan hotel just hours after he died from a heart attack. On Friday, December 23, Veronica was charged with two counts of "acting in a manner injurious to a child."
Police got a 911 call at 11 pm, about "unattended children" at 50 Vanderbilt Avenue in Manhattan, which houses the members-only Yale Club hotel. They learned that "a two-year-old female and a five-month-old female were left alone inside of a hotel room for an extended period of time." The children's ages match those of the Tejeras' daughters, and the police did not provide their names. According to police, Veronica Tejera received a desk ticket requiring her to appear in court.

Veronica said she called her friends to the hotel to watch her children when she went to the hospital with her husband, Dax, reported Daily Mail. However, when the friends arrived, they were reportedly not let into the room and the hotel called police.
As reported by Variety, Dax died unexpectedly from a heart attack. The 37-year-old collaborated with Martha Raddatz and George Stephanopoulos and recently went to London to help with the channel's coverage of the death of Queen Elizabeth II. "It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we share that our friend and colleague, Dax Tejera, passed away suddenly of a heart attack last night," ABC News President Kim Godwin said in a note to colleagues on Christmas Eve. "As EP of 'This Week with George Stephanopoulos' Dax’s energy, passion and love for that show, ABC News, and you, shined every Sunday morning. That same love was extended to his precious girls." He added, "Our thoughts are with his wife, Veronica, the couple’s two young daughters, and the entire Tejera family."
