A peek inside Trump's opulent, luxurious and flamboyant Mar-a-Lago
US President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago home in Florida is just beyond beautiful and is a luxury getaway for him and the First Family. Mar-a-Lago is also a business as well as private spa and club which makes Trump tons of money and profit. The property in Palm Beach is extravagant and boasts of wealth and money in all corners.
Trump purchased this sprawling property back in the year 1985 when it was worth $10 million. Its current estimated worth is between $200 million and $300 million. The luxury resort was built at a cost of $7 million (given inflation, that's roughly equivalent to $93.5 million today) from 1924 to 1927 by cereal-company heiress and socialite Marjorie Merriweather Post — she was America's richest woman at the time.
The property eventually went on to become a National Historic Landmark. When Post passed away, she decided to leave the beautiful property to the federal government as a summer getaway for Presidents. However, due to its high maintenance, the government returned the property to Post's daughters. They did not want it either and sold it to Trump for less than $10 million.
