LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lifetime's thriller and mystery drama titled 'A Nurse to Die' premiered just a few hours ago and it can rightly be said that the film joins the list of movies/shows about healthcare professionals, such as 'The Good Nurse' on Netflix.

'A Nurse to Die' stars Allison McAtee, Jeremy John Wells, Hailey Gray, Alissa Filoramo, and others. Even though the movie becomes predictable after the second half, it manages to keep the audience glued to their screens only to see how the final scene unfolds. 'A Nurse to Die', directed by acclaimed director Peter Sullivan and written by Michael Varrati, fails to leave a lasting impression on people's minds due to an easily predictable plot.

The predictability of 'A Nurse to Die For' undermines great acting

One of the things that stand out in the Lifetime thriller is the fact that actors like Allison McAtee who plays Victoria, Jeremy John Wells who plays Liam, Hailey Gray who plays Corinne, Alissa Filoramo who plays Beverly, and others demonstrate their ability to act extremely well but fail to leave a lasting impression on the audience's minds because none of the characters are given a character arc or something memorable.

It is unfortunate to see such an important subject relating to healthcare professionals being used to draw a story for the viewer and set up a thriller premise but it appears weak from the start. Even though the film has a thriller and mystery feel throughout, the story becomes predictable, leading the audience to lose all interest but keeping them interested enough to watch until the final scene is revealed.

Will 'A Nurse to Die For' prompt people to question their in-house caregivers?

Even though 'A Nurse to Die For' is a fictional story by Michael Varrati, it expresses concern about in-house caregivers. Allison McAtee's Victoria, who is hired as a nurse for Liam's daughter Corinne, begins giving her a tea laced with a drug that is harmful to her instead of giving her a tea that will help her. This act is cruel but also makes people wonder if they will ever believe and trust somebody hired to care for their loved ones.

People find it difficult to keep the movie going because it lacks fun and light moments. Audiences look for moments of happiness while watching movies or shows. A lack of lighter moments causes them to lose interest even if the story is intended to convey a message, which in this case was just how family dynamics and relationships become more difficult when one of the family members becomes ill, and the extent to which they require their family member to be close to them no matter how good the in-house caregiver is.

‘A Nurse to Die For’ is now streaming on Lifetime.
