'A Million Little Things' Season 3 is really focusing on Eddie Saville's (David Giuntoli) life and the mystery about Alex Stewart - both chapters carried forward from season 2. We have also seen plenty of the tensions between Rome and Regina Howard (Romany Malco and Christina Moses) and how the loss of their (almost adopted) son has gravely affected their relationship. So far, however, we hadn't seen anything of Delilah Dixon (Stéphanie Szostak).

In the previous episode, Delilah was ready to bring Miles (Parker Young) home as her kids were away. But as the evening came to an end, she realised that she wasn't really ready for the big change - to move on from her dead husband Jon Dixon (Ron Livingston). Here's why we think that her relationship was Miles is now finished for good. And what will Episode 3 'Letting Go' reveal?

Delilah was cleaning around the house preparing for Miles' visit when she took an old photograph of hers with Jon and kept it inside one of her drawers. She looked at the reflection of the bed she shared with Jon once upon a time before he died by suicide. Since then, she had been mostly alone till eventually ventured out and started seeing Miles.

Her daughter, Sophie (Lizzy Greene), was aware of Delilah's plans to have Miles over. But she changes her own plans and returns home, Sophie finds her mother alone. They talk at length about Jon and his incomplete time with them. Finally, they arrive to the decision of taking a trip to France with Delilah father Lenny (Paul Guilfoyle). Sophie and Danny's (Chance Hurstfield) grandfather has Alzheimer's disease and will be returning to the Dixon household after a long time. In the next episode, the synopsis teases that "Delilah prepares for her trip".

What all will go down in this so-called preparation? Perhaps a final call with Miles?

The reason why Delilah's character arc is steered this way might be more practical than anything. Young currently appears on BET's 'Twenties' and might not have the time to dedicate to 'A Million Little Things'. When asked if his part in Delilah's life is over, creator DJ Nash had once said, "It's absolutely not clear, because he's in another series. So, I have to, at the very least, work around that, I cast someone who I may not have access to." So maybe Miles might never return. And maybe Delilah will be actually embarking on a journey of self-discovery and whatnot. After all, what's she going to France for?

'A Million Little Things' airs on Thursdays at 10 pm ET /PT on ABC.
