'A Million Little Things' Season 2: As tensions between PJ and Mitch rise, he reveals to Rome that Jon could be his father

After 'Grand Canyon', it looks like PJ (Chandler Riggs) is inching closer to finding out the truth about his parentage

Spoilers ahead for Season 2 Episode 2 'Grand Canyon' of 'A Million Little Things'

After 'Grand Canyon', it looks like PJ (Chandler Riggs) is inching closer to finding out the truth about his father - and no, it is not who you think it is.

In the episode, a friend of Mitch's (Rhys Cairo) sees PJ in Brookline, who asks him what he was doing there. PJ lies to him saying he was on his way visiting his girlfriend when actually he was inside Delilah's (Stéphanie Szostak) house. When Mitch says that he didn't even know that PJ was with someone, PJ quickly becomes defensive and says "We don't lie to each other, right dad?"

That must have been harsh, eh Mitch? Mitch is constantly worrying that PJ will figure out the truth about the lies he and Barbara (Drea de Matteo) have told him. He even tells Delilah that when they pay her a visit.

They have been getting notices from the Rutledge Foundation - one that Jon (Ron Livingston) created to compensate for leaving Barbara and PJ alone. Mitch says that they don't want the money that Jon has left for them - it will lead PJ to the truth about his parentage.

Elsewhere, PJ meets Rome (Romany Malco) to talk about the issues he has with his father, Mitch. "I'm just not the son that he wanted me to be", he says. This presumption is forcing him to be distant from his father. But in between this conversation, as he looks around Rome's house, he sees the picture of the guys at a hockey game and inquires about one particular person, obviously Jon.

But Rome, thinking he is asking about Gary, tells him he's Gary. PJ asks again pointing to Jon. "He died last year," he says, adding that he killed himself. "You would have loved him." But since Rome doesn't get why PJ recognizes Gary, so he asks him, making him confess. "The day I met you, I never told you why I was at the hospital. I was there looking for you all," he says. "I think Jon might be my father," he admits.

How will this conversation between Rome and PJ continue in the next episode?

'A Million Little Things' airs on Wednesdays at 9|8c on ABC.
