'A Million Little Things' fans think the show is dragging Jon's plot and Gary is the only saving grace in Season 2

Spoilers ahead for Season 2 Episode 2 'Grand Canyon' of 'A Million Little Things'

'Grand Canyon', the season two episode two of 'A Million Little Things' revolved around Eddie (David Giuntoli) working to keep Theo (Tristan Byon) distracted while still trying to track down Katherine (Grace Park).

When she returns home, she tells him that it is hard for her to pretend everything is fine when it really is not. They unanimously decide that Eddie mustn't leave to crash at Maggie's (Allison Miller) old house, asking him to stay back.

Maggie was in for a big surprise from her mother who tells her that the reason she has moved to Boston is because she wants to reconnect with her daughter — "You need to appreciate what you have, instead of focusing on what you lost," she tells Gary (James Roday).

However, Maggie is in for an unfortunate discovery. Meanwhile, Regina (Christina Moses) struggles with accepting Andrew's (James Tupper) constructive criticism about the restaurant but comes around eventually.

It was Roday's Gary that provided the much-needed comic relief in the tensions arising between Maggie and her mother.

"Gary has been on point this episode in witty one-liners and saying the right thing in the end. There isn't an episode where I don't love Gary. James Roday is too charming," swooned a fan.

Barbara (Drea de Matteo) visits Delilah (Stephanie Szostak) along with Mitch (Rhys Coiro). They tell her that they don't want the money that Jon (Ron Livingston) had left her and her son PJ (Chandler Riggs). Which even fans found weird.

"I find it ridiculous that Barbara didn’t want the 500k. That would pay for college and then some. Put it in a trust for PJ. Who walks away from that? And then Delilah makes it about her? This made zero sense," said a fan.

"I agree. It seems very selfish. I mean, they’ve fabricated stories his entire life so they could've made something up to explain the money," added another

'Grand Canyon' was quite frankly a mess — there was so much was happening with respect to all the show's protagonists in the episode. And fans agree.

"I feel like there are too many characters, too many subplots, and too many commercials to accomplish much of anything in an episode," said a fan.

At the same time, some feel that Jon's plotline carried forward into season two is overstaying his welcome. "I found myself skipping a lot of stuff. Some of it was unnecessary. The stuff with John should have been settled last season," said a fan.

Fans might not have been very excited about 'Grand Canyon' because the episode wasn't up to the mark that the show has set for itself. There are some plotlines that feel dragged into season two. Two episodes in and we do wish the show's makers do away with some of these.

'A Million Little Things' airs on Thursdays at 9|8c on ABC.
