'A Million Little Things' Season 2 Episode 12: Maggie discovers that Eric had been lying to her the entire time
Spoilers for 'A Million Little Things' Episode 12 titled 'Guilty'
Jason Ritter's Eric's first appearance on the show was dubious. He turned up out of nowhere with Maggie Bloom's (Allison Miller) mother Patricia (Melora Hardin) immediately forming a bond with them because he claimed he had Chad's heart. But he wouldn't fool viewers who had anticipated the shadiness of his backstory.
Later in Season 2, suspicions against Eric increase as post-breakup Gary Mendez (James Roday) is adamant that he is hiding something. In the previous episode, Gary finds out that Eric has a wrongful death lawsuit against him for the death of his fiance. Before this reveal, we had found out that Eric never actually had a heart transplant in the first place.
A promo released for the upcoming episode shows Maggie finally finding out that Eric does not have Chad's heart. Maggie shows up at Eric's house hoping to talk to him (after they kissed Eric has maintained a distance from her). But she finds out that Eric is moving from his place. In the next scene, she discovers a shirtless picture of him without the scar and then joins the dots.
It will come as a huge blow for her, especially since she had defended Eric in front of Gary. And knowing that Eric was somewhere responsible for them breaking up, Maggie is going to be filled with remorse.
Speaking of Gary, it looks like the upcoming episode will be an emotionally heavy one for him as the promo suggests that Gary revisits his past. Gary has had an undulating relationship with his mother. She left him when he was young and has since not spoken to her. While he tried talking to her (before the show went on a break), he could not muster the courage to go through with the call, hanging up before he even uttered a word.
With hidden secrets out and the past unfurled, how will these three characters stand the changing of the tides? We will only have to wait and watch.
