This story contains major spoilers for Season 2 Episode 12 of 'A Million Little Things' titled 'Guilty'

Eric's (Jason Ritter) story about losing his fiancée Chloe (Sutton Foster) to a bike accident and then to heart transplant complications may have been intended to tug at your heartstrings but fans of 'A Million Little Things' are having none of it - for them, Eric is already canceled.

On the latest episode of 'A Million Little Things', Maggie Bloom (Allison Miller) discovers that Eric never had the heart transplant surgery that supposedly gave him her brother Chad's heart. It was his fiancée Chloe who was given Chad's heart. In an unfortunate turn of events, however, the operation fell through and Eric revealed that even though Chad's heart gave Chloe six more years, she did eventually die.

As heartbreaking as his backstory is and mind you, even we teared up a bit - fans don't care about his past. The lies are too treacherous to look beyond. "I don’t care how tragically sad this story with his fiancée is. This is still all kinds of f***ed up," noted a fan. "Yeah as much as I love Jason Ritter (I mean big time) this storyline seriously needs to end and Eric needs to take a hike," concurred another fan. "Ugh Eric gtfo," said a fan. "I do not wanna see Eric ever again. Pls pls pls," noted another.

Viewers cannot believe how one could possibly lie about getting a heart transplant. "He better have a really good reason for lying about a transplant cause that’s just incredibly f**king strange and horrible." "That Maggie/Eric storyline was so strange. Felt like it ultimately went nowhere. And anyone who could lie about something that important is suspect af," tweeted a fan. Fans' anger is justified. It is not like Eric did not have the chance to come clean to Maggie - he had not one but multiple occasions. We're thinking, even the time that she kissed him and he kissed her back before breaking it off was also as good a time as any to tell her about his past.

Even so, some fans were hoping Maggie had handled this better than she did. "Gotta say the eric reveal was a huge letdown.. I was expecting WAY!!! more especially from maggie given the fact dude lied to her and her grieving mom for months! She should've been lashing out at him not let him confess his love for her" tweeted a disappointed fan.

Maggie and Eric's conversation ended with Eric walking away with an "I love you," which we find really messed up. But could this be a nod to the show introducing a love triangle between Maggie, Eric and Gary Mendez (James Roday)? We'll have to wait to find out.

'A Million Little Things' airs on Thursdays at 10/ 9'c on ABC.
