This year everyone needs a bit of extra Christmas cheer amid the doleful times of the pandemic. To up the ante of the festive mood, country legend Dolly Parton has arrived with the CBS Special — ‘A Holly Dolly Christmas’. The show marks Parton's first-holiday release in three decades and the long wait was worth it! The nine-time Grammy Award winner was seen in the festive mood amid an intimate, candle-lit set in white glittery short dress.

During the show, the ‘Joelene’ star shared personal memories that made her cry when she was describing her mother. She mentioned how her mother, who had 11 kids including her, was left without a present one Christmas. When one of the kids asked her to take their gift, Parton’s mother politely said “No Honey” to let her kids have the joy despite the utter depravity they used to live in. At this highly sentimental moment, Parton cried remembering her mother’s kindness.

"I am so proud to be a part of the CBS family this holiday season with my new Christmas special," Parton said earlier on her hour-long show. Parton earlier said in the teaser video of CBS special, "I think that music is a great connector, just is that universal language that everybody enjoys. Right now, during this time, it's important to put as much love, as much light, and as much joy, as you can out there to the people.”

She added, "I'm doing some fun songs like 'I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus' and they're going to enjoy hearing a few stories from my childhood. It'll be moving and touching, and I think fans will really enjoy it because it's a little something different than what they've heard me sing."

Indeed Parton’s songs touched fans as she cried amid singing. This got the Internet talking who quipped they cannot see the country legend cry.A user wrote, “Wow bye not emotionally stable enough to watch Dolly cry.” Another wrote, “Anyone in need of a therapeutic cry should tune in to the #HollyDollyChristmas special right now. So good to be reminded of the power of love and a good heart.”

A user quipped, “Hmm do I want to watch the Grinch or watch Dolly Parton & cry? Decisions decisions.” “Dolly Parton is making my stone cold heart cry,” read a tweet. A user expressed his heart out, “When I just thought I couldn’t love @DollyParton anymore, she has me with the story about her Mama and the Christmas goody bag from church. #AHollyDollyChristmas first time I’ve ever seen her almost cry live on camera.”
