LONDON, ENGLAND: 'A Good Girl's Guide to Murder', based on Holly Jackson's novel of the same name, is an exciting addition to Netflix's mystery genre. The six-episodic series revolves around a teenage girl, Pip Fitz-Amobi (Emma Myers), investigating a local murder as part of her project for university application.

Andie Bell (India Lillie Davies), a schoolgirl, went missing and was allegedly killed on the fateful night of April 2019. Her boyfriend, Sal Singh (Rahul Pattni) eventually confessed to the murder before killing himself.

Five years later, Pip, who remains haunted by a memory of Andie and Sal from the day of the murder, takes up the case, believing that Sal was innocent.

When the cops investigated the case five years ago, Sal failed to provide an alibi from the night of the murder. When Daniel da Silva (Jackson Bews) shows Pip the recording of the police investigation, in Episode 4, even Pip is convinced that Sal might be the actual killer.

However, in Episode 5, Pip discovers crucial evidence that proves Sal was with his friends during the time of the murder.

Though Pip is relieved to discover that she was right all along, she is still unsettled because she hasn't found the actual killer yet. The mystery remains intense for viewers as well, as there's little scope for them to guess who the real culprit might be.

It is only in the latter half of Episode 5 that we learn Naomi's (Yasmin Al-Khudhairi) father, Elliot Ward (Mathew Baynton), is connected to Andie's case. He is the older man with whom Andie had an affair. This revelation leads Pip to believe that Elliot is the culprit.

As she traces Elliot to his old house, Pip believes that Andie still might be alive. She even texts Ravi Singh (Zain Iqbal) and asks him to send the police to the said location.

Pip is convinced that Elliot has held Andie as hostage for five years in his house which everyone believed he had sold years ago.

Even though Elliot tries to act innocent, a weird sound leads Pip to a closed compartment upstairs where she finds a girl locked up. Shockingly, it's not Andie. But the episode doesn't reveal her identity and leaves viewers on a cliffhanger.

An argument with Elliot had left Andie severely injured but she was alive and left his house before he could call the ambulance.

Elliot, went out looking for her, but she was nowhere to be found. Pip and the viewers have all the reasons to believe that Andie might still be alive. Five years on, her body has still not been found.

Neither Sal nor Elliot have killed her. This leaves us with further suspense, waiting to unfold in the sixth and final episode of the series.
