The Democrats are trying hard to see President Donald Trump fail to complete his remaining term in office to clinch a moral victory ahead of the November presidential elections.

However, their efforts seem to be futile when compared with the people of America. According to a new survey conducted by Economist/YouGov, only seven percent feel that the Democrats are "very likely" to succeed in their mission to end Trump's run.

93% do not feel Trump will be removed

The survey that covered 1,500 adults between January 19 and 21 cited 43 percent of America's adults saying that the prospect of Trump leaving office before the election is "not likely at all". Party-wise, 69 percent of Republicans, 25 percent of Democrats and 41 percent independents feel the same.

Besides this, 20 percent felt it is "not very likely" that Trump will leave office before the election. In this category, 24 percent of Democrats feel the same while it is only 14 percent among Republicans and 21 percent independents who harbor the same feeling.

A  total of 16 percent said they were "unsure" whether the country would see the back of Trump before the election arrives while 15 percent of Democrats, six percent Republicans and 22 percent independents agreed.

Meanwhile, 14 percent felt it is "somewhat likely" that Trump will leave the office with 21 percent of Democrats agreeing besides seven percent Republicans and 12 percent independents.

Only seven percent believed that it is "very likely" that the maverick president, who is fighting an impeachment trial in the Senate at the moment over his alleged misuse of power by trying to pressure a foreign leadership to defeat his domestic rival, will end up leaving the office.

A total of 15 percent of Democrats believed the same while among the GOP supporters, it was four percent. Four percent of independents also felt the same.

At the Senate

Meanwhile, on Monday, January 27, Trump's defense team in the senate dragged the names of Joe Biden's son Hunter and former president Barack Obama in the Senate during the trial.

It questioned the Democrats on why they were not equally upset over Hunter's deal with a Ukrainian gas company worth three billion and Obama's alleged surrender to Russia on missile defense.

Trump's attorneys sharpened their attacks on the Democrats as they renewed calls for Trump's ousted national security adviser John Bolton to testify against the president.
