911 calls show Lindsay Shiver's family was worried about her mental state months before murder plot
ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Lindsay Shiver, a former beauty queen who is accused of hiring a hitman to kill her estranged husband, Robert Shiver a former college college star, had a series of clashes with her family members highlighting her mental state.
According to 911 calls, these conflicts happened in the months leading up to the alleged murder plot. The calls and footage show that Lindsay’s mother, her mother-in-law and her husband were all concerned about her mental state and behaviour.
How many times did Robert Shiver and Lindsay dail 911 on each other?
Daily Mail reported that Robert and Lindsay called the police at least five times.
Robert signed the NFL Atlanta Falcons as a free agent but was let go in roster cuts ahead of the 2009 season.
He called 911 for the first time on February 20, 2023, asking cops to accompany him to the $2.5 million marital home to pick up his belongings.
He said he did not want Lindsay to “scream bloody murder” and “try to have me carried off in a police car”.
He also called 911 on April 12, 2023, after receiving a mysterious USB thumb drive in the mail with pictures of his wife from their trip abroad.
He said he did not know if they had “a potential stalker or some lunatic” who had been following Lindsay around.
What happened after Robert Shiver filed for divorce?
After filing for divorce On April 30, 2023, Robert called 911 again and said that Lindsay had “gone off the rails” and was tailgating his mother’s car to try to get to the children.
He said that Lindsay who met her in 2007 while Robert was captain of the football team, threatened him and his mother and that her mom was saying to take her to the ER or check her into some mental institution.
He said they think that Lindsay was having “a midlife crisis, mental breakdown”.
In one of the bodycam footage obtained by Fox News, Lindsay’s mother-in-law, Robin Shiver, told a deputy that Lindsay was “delusional” and “mental”.
She also said that Lindsay threatened her life and had a pistol. “She’s delusional, and we know that."
"Her mom and husband and myself are all like, you got to go get some help, you got to go get some help. You’re mental, mental, and she denies it," she added. She also accused her of having drugs.
Did Lindsay Shiver's own mom side with her inlaws about her mental situation?
Lindsay Shivers's mother-in-law told the same deputy from the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office that Lindsay’s mother and husband agreed that she needed help.
She even handed over her phone to the deputy and said, “This is her mother, and she wants to talk to you”. Lindsay’s mom confirmed that she received a menacing text from her daughter, Fox News reported.
On July 16, 2023, Lindsay called 911 on Robert at their home after he refused to let her use their private jet to meet her lover, Terrance Bethel, in the Bahamas.
She claimed that Robert was abusive and violent towards her and their children. She also said that she had a restraining order against him, which was not valid.
On July 21, 2023, Lindsay was arrested in the Bahamas along with Bethel, 28, and alleged hitman Faron Newbold Jr, for plotting to murder Robert. The police found messages on Lindsay’s phone where she wrote “Kill him” to Newbold on July 16, 2023.
