'90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way': Yazan says his parents want him to marry a relative, not Brittany
Brittany and Yazan are engaged but there is a lot that the pair needs to discuss before starting their happily ever after. Yazan proposed to Brittany five days after spending time with her and now, his family expects them to get married as soon as she lands in the country. While Brittany has been hiding the fact that she is still married, the pair still has to figure out how to come on the same page with cultural differences.
Brittany has always lived her life freely and never hesitated to be independent. Meanwhile, Yazan's family is religious and lives in a society where women tend to refrain from wearing short clothes or showing too much skin. Speaking to the camera, Yazan admitted that everyone around him is convinced that Brittany is not compatible with him. He recalled that when Brittany came to Jordan for the first time, she wore clothes that were short, tight and her breasts were out. Yazan was quick to add that people had been commenting on their relationship looking at the different lifestyles the two have. He further added that Brittany would have to wear a hijab when she comes here.
While Yazan is convinced things would work out between them, his family does not think the same. Yazan's brother, Obaida, hinted that he was not happy with the relationship and it might be a problem in the future. Obaida asked Yazan why wasn't he looking for someone who followed their religion and lived in the same community. Yazan made it clear he loved Brittany and she was ready to accept the Islam religion. He added that she was ready to convert too. Yazan also gave an insight into the situation as he revealed his family wanted him to marry someone among his relatives just like his parents, who are related.
He made it clear it was a common practice as the families knew each other. Despite this, he was ready to take all the risks because he loved her. While Yazan is ready to stand against his family, fans were shocked to hear his parents were related. "Wow, so Yazan’s parents and relatives all are related to each other... Interesting. So I see why he doesn’t want to marry within his culture," read one comment. "Say what now??!! Yazan parents (husband & wife) are RELATED as in family members BEFORE the marriage???!!" read another.
