'90 Day Fiancé The Other Way' saw Avery, 19, and Omar, 24, beaming with happiness as the two tied the knot in a traditional ceremony. Avery, who met Omar through a dating site, was accompanied by her mother, Terri. However, Terri had some problems with the cultural practices during the ceremony. The reality star's mother was not pleased to know that she could not act as an official witness at her daughter's wedding as in Islamic culture two women or a man can act as a witness in the wedding.

Since Teri did not have any other woman along with her she was not allowed to be a witness at the wedding. Teri even spoke about a lot of rituals being performed keeping the man as the center of the occasion while the woman is asked to sit aside. "I feel you are being married without being part of the marriage," Teri said.

Despite this, Teri put her differences aside and celebrated her daughter's wedding. However, she received a big shock when Avery told her that she would be moving to Syria after her marriage.

Teri was of the view that Avery would be moving to the US until Omar got his visa. But things turned out different than she imagined. Avery decided to break the news to her mother when she asked if the pair would be able to see each other before the visa process. "I am going to go down to Syria with his sister and stay there," says Avery.

Avery added that she would be moving there in July but it won't be a permanent move. Teri was concerned about her daughter's safety. "Does that sound a good idea to you to move to somewhere where it is obviously not safe? You don't speak the language. Do you think you can live in a foreign country without me? Avery, you can't even go to an ATM without help."

Teri seemed furious and questioned whether Avery's plan was to get married and become a housewife. However, Omar chimed in and tried to calm Teri down by noting that he would always be there for Avery. In reference to her safety, he assured Teri that the place where he stays is safe. While Teri did not seem satisfied with the answer she left the couple to leave for the airport and told them to enjoy their first night together as a married couple. Looks like this is the only blessing the pair will get from Teri at the moment.
