'90 Day Fiancé': Emily says she has low self-esteem because of the way she looks, fans blame Sasha
Emily Larina and Sasha Larina are finally married but not everything in their marriage is going down the happy road. Appearing on the tell-all part one, Emily confessed that she is having a hard time looking at herself in the mirror. The topic arose when Emily's sister, Betsy, said she was being pressurized by Sasha to lose the baby fat.
To support this, the show also showed the scene where Sasha asked Emily to control her eating and be more focused on working out. Betsy thought that Emily had developed this idea in her head that if she does not look pretty, Sasha would leave her. Emily tried to defend Sasha and added that he tells her to not eat because she is not happy with her body.
Emily confessed that she wants to work out and eat healthy because she wants to go back to looking the way she looked before having a child. She further said her self-esteem is being affected because of the way she looks and it is taking a toll in their relationship.
Sasha jumped in stating that he is stern with Emily because he wants her to be healthy and love the way she looks. The other cast members agreed and thought that there wasn't anything wrong with Sasha telling Emily to have control over what she eats.
However, the fans thought that Emily's self-esteem was deeply affected because Sasha is all about looking good. Some even agreed with Betsy and one comment read, "I’m on Betsy’s side, Sasha isn’t nurturing towards Emily. His only intention to help is because of the physicality of their relationship, not making sure Emily’s emotional well being is just as fulfilled. He wants to be the husband with his thumb and eyes over her only."
Another echoed similar thoughts and wrote, "Wow, Sasha is just fat-shaming Emily, so ridiculous. He is not helping, he is affecting her self-esteem" while another added, "Emily is really delusional if she can't see how controlling Sasha is like come on he's basically sitting there telling her what to eat like come on!!"
