'90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?': Kalani and Asuelu's marriage crumbles as they struggle to raise two kids
Asuelu Pulaa and Kalani Faagata's age difference had not been an issue when the pair first met. Kalani revealed she was a virgin when she first met Asuelu but wanted to take the next step in the relationship after she thought they were in love. One thing she did not anticipate was getting pregnant.
Kalani knew she did not want to raise a child alone and the two decided to make things official as she invited Asuelu to move to the US. The pair welcomed their first child and soon got married. However, they did not anticipate that six months after their marriage they would be pregnant again. The news about Kalani's pregnancy came as a shock to everyone as they thought Asuelu may not be ready or fit to raise two children. While the pair welcomed their second child, they started noticing some distance developing between them. In the season premiere of the show, Kalani confronted Asuelu for his lack of presence while raising their two children.
Kalani admitted that she had been doing everything by herself and would love to have some support from him. While she has her parents helping her out, Asuelu has been out of the picture for a long time. Asuelu explained that in his country, the women take care of the children and the house while the men go about their business. Kalani hinted that she had no problem with Asuelu having a social life but stated that he had no right to be that way if he did not contribute to his house. After coming back from work, Asuelu used to play volleyball with his friends or get busy playing video games.
Kalani asked Asuelu about the last time they spent some quality time together. Asuelu revealed they had gone for a movie together but Kalani had to remind him that it was four months ago. She could feel the distance coming between them. Part of her believed that having two children within a span of two years is what brought the distance between them. Speaking to the camera, she admitted it would have been good if they could go back to how they were at the beginning of their relationship where they loved to be around each other. Fans believe their age difference and cultural differences are playing a role in breaking their marriage. While fans think these problems were bound to come, we wonder if the pair would be able to work things out.
