SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA: In a surprising reveal, the next '90 Day Fiance' spinoff, '90 Day: The Last Resort', would include two well-known couples: Edward “Big Ed” Brown and Elizabeth “Liz” Woods and Jovi Dufren and Yara Zaya. When the news first surfaced, though, fans of the former couple were disappointed at their return and thought they needed "to seriously be done and move on."

Five former '90 Day Fiance' couples will be followed in the new spinoff, which debuts on August 14. These couples have reached a breaking point in their relationships and are visiting a couple's retreat to decide whether to continue the relationship. The couples will receive active support from a team of specialists in overcoming issues with trust, sex, jealousy, fury, and intimacy. There will soon be thrilling group therapies, intense couple's sessions, past life regressions, one-of-a-kind on- and off-resort activities, and more. Each couple must choose whether to stay together or split up after the retreat.

'The cats outta the bag'

Several fan sightings in recent months have hinted at probable cast members. Among these are known individuals that fans may expect to see on the '90 Day Fiance' spin-off. Pictures of certain cast members with a camera crew were released online in January 2023. The photos showed the stars filming at Florida Keys resorts, likely for '90 Day: The Last Resort'.

Among those who appeared were Liz Woods, Big Ed Brown, Asuelu Pulaa, Kalani Faagata, Angela Deem, Yara Zaya, and others. TLC unveiled '90 Day: The Last Resort's first two couples on Instagram on Friday, July 14, 2023, officially confirming Yara and Jovi and Big Ed and Liz's positions on the program. The program will include five couples in all, and because the leaked photographs only showed four of them, it's fun to hypothesize about the fifth pair.

On the same day, Big Ed took to his own Instagram account to announce his big return to the big screen. He wrote, "The cats outta the bag, premiering August 14th. Check out this exclusive article from @entertainmenttonight , link in my bio." However, the reception was not what he was expecting.

Given their number of breakups and their 28-year age difference, Big Ed and Liz's debut on the new spinoff is bound to be contentious. Big Ed and Liz have been in a cycle of make-ups and break-ups for the past two years, according to TLC. With declining trust and dread, the other is seeking a way out, hoping to break through walls and rebuild toward a new life, which may include a new house and a wedding. More blunders might jeopardize their efforts to plan for the future.

'WE DONT WANNA SEE HEAD N SHOULDERS ANYMORE'

Fans of the franchise were quick to react to the post shared by TLC, as one wrote, "WE DONT WANNA SEE HEAD N SHOULDERS ANYMORE." Another person called out the network saying, "Big Ed has a history of abusive and inappropriate workplace behavior. He is disguising towards Liz and giving him a platform only affirms his behavior. We’re sick of seeing him." One person chimed in, "Time to boycott this show, until they remove Ed and Liz." One hopeful fan asked, "Does “last resort” mean this is the last time we have to see Ed and Liz on our screens???? 🤞🏻"

One Ed's own post, users didn't hold back as they wrote, "Let me guess more endless breaking up because of your insecurities then getting back together? I think I summed it up." Another person added, "We don’t need y’all on this show. She needs to seriously be done and move on." One person noted, "The train wreck that never ends. Lol Not sure I could have gotten past the nastiness you showed toward each other last season." One fan accused the pair saying, "Everyone knows they are still together....it's just another money grab."
