600-pound mother on mission to lose weight because she wants to stay alive for one-year-old daughter
Leneathra Reed decided to go on the incredible weight loss journey given she has a small child, and in turn has inspired many people all over the world
A Mississippi mother weighing 600 pounds is on a mission to lose weight for the sake of her 23-month-old daughter and the Internet cannot have enough of her workout videos, with many complimenting her inspiring resolve.
Leneathra Reed began to train with a personal trainer after she touched 626 pounds in November and has lost around 30 pounds since then.
Her trainer Frank Harbin shared a video of her training and workouts which included exercises such as jumping jacks, climbing on tires, and also sit-ups. The video got over 52 million views and almost 100,0000 comments encouraging and supporting Reed in her quest to drop some pounds and live a healthier life.
The 39-year-old revealed exactly why she chose to lose weight and said it was all because of her 23-month-old daughter, Kenlyn.
As reported by WCVB, she said, "I can't see anyone else raising her, so I have to do this for my daughter. Just her smile and watching her light up looking at me, it's enough to keep me going."
It has almost been two years since Reed weighed below 600 pounds, and her weight started to pose a huge threat to her life and health and she decided to try and shed the pounds.
"I would stop in the hallway and pretend like I was talking to other co-workers, just embarrassed that I couldn't breathe."
Ever since she began to work out regularly and consistently with Harbin, Reed shared that she shed around 30 pounds and already notices a difference in the way she feels.
"Even those few pounds that I've lost, I can tell the difference in my back. I can actually breathe better," Reed revealed. Her trainer Harbin was very pleased with her determination and effort and shared, "She won't quit, she'll push to the end."
Many commented on her videos and photos and shared, "You GOT THIS!! Hard work pays off. Can't wait to see the new YOU!!" While another encouraging fan commented, "She just motivated me to get off my butt and get this weight off. Keep up the good work sista."
Harbin also addressed the attention that Reed has received and said, "No matter when we go live, Y'all don't understand, the whole world is motivating this woman."
A GoFundMe page has also been started to help with money for Reed's personal training and also plastic surgery once she loses the weight.
Reed also added how she sees her own weight loss journey as a means to inspire and encourage others to be healthy.
"Why not get up and get off of my behind and show people that just because you're big, that does not mean that you have to sit there and just take it. When you admit that you have a problem, and you admit that it's something that you need to get up and do something about it, you can do it," she revealed.
