Shanese had tough luck finding food that she can eat with the jail not providing enough vegetables and fruits in the beginning

Tensions are running high in the women's pod on '60 Days In' and it seems like the women have had enough of Shanese, the at-risk youth teacher who has a severe gluten allergy.

"She is irritating me," says Ashley in this episode, after Shanese would not stop talking about her condition and the low standard of food, especially after she got her fruits. Jennifer felt similar emotions. "I hate it when grownups whine," she says, trying hard not to get visibly angry at Shanese's "whining".

Shanese had tough luck finding food that she can eat with the jail not providing enough vegetables and fruits in the beginning. She was trying her best to make it through for her students so she could help them deal with their jail time better. There was a time she wanted to quit, but then she returned, only for her struggle to get intensified.

However, after a lot of complaining, Shanese was able to get her hands on apples, but then had a lot to say about that too. "I have eaten more apples in my time here than in the last five years," she says, spitting out the skin, "I hate these things."

Jennifer has been saying from Day 1 that jail was no picnic and Shanese's behavior would just not fly in the prison. Ashley had earlier been supportive of Shanese, especially because she was also struggling with basic necessities at that point. However, that friendship has clearly faded. To be fair Shanese does complain about it all the time.

This week, she also ends up showing the emergency signal to the producers, only to have no emergency at all. "I am on the edge," as the producers repeatedly ask her what the issue was. She leaves, looking a little sheepish, but promptly goes back to complaining about the conditions at the Etowah County jail.

Without Ashley and Jennifer backing her, will Shanese survive a day longer?

'60 Days In' airs at 9/8c on Thursdays on A&E.
