Two drug-addled men arrested for killing boy, 6, in human sacrifce for 'prosperity'
DELHI, INDIA: According to officials, two men who were under the influence of drugs admitted to killing a 6-year-old boy and using him for human sacrifice in order to achieve "prosperity." The suspected murder took place on Saturday night, October 1, at a construction site close to South Delhi, India, after the kid and his family had celebrated Durga Puja, a Hindu holiday honoring the goddess Durga. According to a report from The Times of India, the youngster, who has not been officially identified, resided with his family at the construction camp where his parents worked as laborers.
At approximately 10:30 pm after the festivities, the 6-year-old was on his way back to his living quarters when Vijay Kumar and Amar Kumar, the two suspects, summoned him over to their "kitchen area," according to the report. The two males allegedly started attacking the child on his head and slit his throat when he approached them. DCP (South) Chandan Choudhary told Indian Express, “We were told that a six-year-old boy was killed and two men were caught. We rushed to the spot and found the victim in the jhuggis opposite the construction site. Laborers and CRPF personnel had caught the accused. We found that the accused called the boy, who knew them, to their kitchen around 10.30 pm and killed him with a weapon.”

When the suspects were apprehended, police claimed they were disoriented because they had reportedly consumed smack/ganja. Later, they purportedly claimed that their goal was to please the gods. “Further inquiry revealed that Vijay had a ‘vision’ about the murder. He (the accused) stated that he consumed drugs and approached some women (at the site) for incense sticks. However, they refused to help him. He went back and then saw… (a god) in his ‘vision’. He then picked up the child and killed him inside his shed. The accused revealed this in their disclosure statements,” Choudhary remarked.
Meanwhile, the boy’s parents said, “My son was playing with his friends. The women were singing bhajans and doing puja while we were going to a temple. After 10.30 pm, the accused pulled him into the shed. We searched for him everywhere. Later, I found blood coming out of their house. I went in and found them pushing my son’s body under a cot. I screamed for help… We came to Delhi around four-five weeks ago. Our family never fought with anyone. Why did they kill my son?” The boy's body was discovered in the room where one of the accused was hiding out, the family claims, while the other was trying to flee. “Initially, when I was searching for my boy and found blood oozing out of their (accused) shed, I thought they were slaughtering a hen. I was shocked to find my boy there. He died on the spot,” the parents remarked.
