Rapper 50 Cent has found himself in an embarrassing situation after he attempted to troll Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King with regard to their apparent silence on the George Floyd protests. Unfortunately for 50 Cent, he accidentally referred to George Floyd as 'Greg Floyd'. The rapper put out a tweet on June 2 that read, "Just facts people," along with an image of Oprah and Gayle with the text, "Last seen, tearing down black men, but nowhere to be found when it comes to the murder of Greg Floyd, or any injustice directed at black men."

50 Cent's mistake was immediately picked up by many. Responding to the statement in the image, one Twitter user shared, "Well maybe it's coz no one in the name of Greg Floyd has been murdered by the police," while another said, "Yeah but the 'fact' is that Greg Floyd didn't die George Floyd did..." One user queried, "So we just gonna ignore the fact that 50 CENT called George Floyd GREG Floyd........" but not long after, 'Greg Floyd' began trending as users wanted to know just who exactly was 50 Cent referring to.

One user tweeted, "JESUS DEVONTE CHRIST... who is Greg Floyd?! I gotta go. I-," another asked, "Who is Greg Floyd? Lmfaooooo," and one stated, "GREG FLOYD?? You ain't s**t for that!" Many users began trolling 50 Cent for his mistake. One said, "Not you getting greg floyd trending for your blatant ignorance... I have to laugh," while another tweeted, "@cthagod You're gonna have to give @50cent Donkey of the Day for trying to bash Gayle King and Oprah while misspelling George Floyd's name for Greg Floyd."

Users also took to Twitter to share memes of confusion, stating "Me trying to figure out who Greg Floyd is", while others shared the popular gif of Oprah shrugging with captions like, "Oprah who is greg Floyd?" Some invoked 50 Cent's real name, Curtis, to question his lack of awareness with regards to the situation. One user asked, "Curtis... who is greg floyd," another said, "50 cent just said Greg Floyd in his recent post who the f**k is GREG CURTIS?????" And some others said a prayer, jokingly tweeting, "Whoever greg floyd is / you will be missed."

The stream of comments asking who Greg Floyd was had some people in splits. "'Who tf is greg floyd???' comments have me LAUGHING sis i can't," tweeted one user. Others called 50 Cent out, tweeting, "What a way to cancel yourself sir. 'greg floyd' sir." Many users were momentarily confused upon seeing the name 'Greg Floyd' trending. One tweeted, "When I saw Greg Floyd was trending I thought I had his name wrong the whole time," while another said, "ME NOT KNOWING WHAT’S GOING ON AND THINKING ITS HIS BROTHER."

Amid all the confusion and jokes, however, one user took a moment to highlight another major issue with 50 Cent's tweet, aside from getting Floyd's name wrong. The user shared, "50 Cent made himself look crazy with this post, man lol. Gayle King & Oprah have already spoken out about the death of #GeorgeFloyd and he used a meme that said 'Greg Floyd' to clown them smh," adding, "#JusticeForGeorgeFloyd." The two women recently spoke about Floyd on Winfrey’s latest virtual tour experience with Weight Watchers, which is a series of four live, virtual events to help people cope with the lockdown and ongoing coronavirus pandemic. During the segment, Oprah said, "There is a lot of unrest, and rightful unrest, based upon what we all saw this week. We literally witnessed — on camera — a man's life being snuffed out before our very eyes."

She further said that the current situation was a "wake-up call", adding, "We can't tolerate hate crimes perpetrated by authorities in this country. We need to speak up and say 'That will not happen on my watch'. We're going to do the work that it takes to dismantle in our own way... all of the constructs of injustice." Gayle also chimed in later in the episode, stating, "I literally could not sleep because I'm watching it. All of us feel so haunted and unsettled by it. I can't stop thinking about the looting, about George Floyd, the expression on that cop's face when he had his knee on his neck, and he's so comfortable... he had his hands in his pocket! That's the universal sign of 'I am really chillin' here'." She also added, "Thank God for the video tape. Racism isn't better. It still exists, it's just now on video."

Oprah additionally posted a statement on her Instagram that reads, "I’ve been trying to process what can be said or heard in this moment. I haven’t been able to get the image of the knee on his neck out of my head. It's there every morning when I rise and when I go through the ordinary duties of the day. While pouring coffee, lacing my shoes, and taking a breath, I think: He doesn’t get to do this." She continued, "And now the video from the other angle of two other officers pinning him down. My heart sinks even deeper. His family and friends say he was a gentle giant. His death has now shown us he had a giant soul. If the largeness of a soul is determined by its sphere of influence, George Floyd is a Mighty soul." Her statement concluded, "#GeorgeFloyd: We speak your name. But this time we will not let your name be just a hashtag. Your spirit is lifted by the cries of all of us who call for justice in your name!"
