Woman dies in freak accident after 400-pound barbell falls on her neck in viral video
A surveillance video from a Mexican gym shows a 42-year-old woman buried to death while attempting to lift a 400-pound barbell on Monday. The woman stepped under a barbell while a man and her daughter looked on before she lifted it over her head for about four seconds when the barbell fell over her neck.
The surveillance footage shows the woman stepping under the barbell the apparently at least four weighted plates on each side. Upon losing control of the weight the barbell drops over on her neck causing her to collapse on the gym floor. Members of the training facility raced to lift the metal off her as she flips and falls backward appearing to be unconscious. A man turns her to the side and steps away as the blood started gushing from her head. Watch the video here.
