A three-year-old boy in South Africa was allegedly murdered by two minors, aged seven and eight, who reportedly confessed to tying up the child with a rope, and beating him with stones.

Reports state that the two also confessed to throwing the three-year-old off the edge of a dumpsite.

The toddler, who has not been identified, was found dead near a dumpsite in Gauteng, South Africa on Sunday, just a kilometer away from his home.

The children, during the alleged confession, said they pushed the three-year-old down a mountain-like slide and when they went down after him they noticed he had a cut on his head. The children said that when they tried to wake him up, he would not move, the Daily Mail reported.

The boy was reported missing by his family on Saturday after he did not come home from playing outside. According to his father, a third party may have been involved in the incident as he does not believe two young children would have been able to move a dead body.

The boy's father, while talking to Times Live, said: "I understand the children could have been playing and a mistake happened, but a dead person is heavy. There is no way they would have been able to pick him up and put him inside a sack. There is an adult involved somehow."

However, the father could not think of anybody who might have wanted to harm him or his family.

"I don’t have enemies around. I wake up early in the morning and come back [from work] quite late. A lot of people don't even know me in this area. Even if I had wronged someone why did they have to kill my son and not me?" he told Times Live.

The father also claimed that the parents of the two children who allegedly confessed to his son's murder have not contacted him regarding the incident. Police officials are currently investigating the case.

The three-year-old reportedly went missing after he was served his lunch, which he left untouched, and told his mother that he was going outside to play. The heartbroken family said that they were shocked by the incident because even though the boy would often go outside to play, he was "too clever" to get lost or wander too far from the house.
