The Prefontaine Classic is set to kick off in Eugene, Oregon, on August 20-21. Hayward Field will host the 46th Prefontaine Classic, a part of the Wanda Diamond League of international track and field meets.

The event comes at the heels of the end of the Olympics which took place in Tokyo this year. Among the track and field wonders reported by MEAWW was Sha'Carri Richardson, who was denied her spot at the Olympics this year due to a failed drug test. Other athletes like Dalilah Muhammad took center stage after being part of the women's 4x400m relay team which won gold.
