PUBLISHED DEC 11, 2019

On Wednesday morning, the Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations were announced. A SAG nomination is usually considered a precursor to an Oscar nomination, mainly because they are voted on by members of the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, a group that has an overlap with the Academy Awards voters.

The accolades given by the guild will this year see, for the first time 21 years, a foreign language film in the best cast nomination. South Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho's ‘Parasite’ has been nominated for the SAG Awards' best ensemble.

Other nominations in this category include Quentin Tarantino's ‘Upon a Time in Hollywood’, Martin Scorsese's ‘The Irishman’, Jay Roach's ‘Bombshell’ and Taika Waititi's ‘Jojo Rabbit’.
