American country singer Reba McEntire, who is known for her two number-one singles namely ‘How Blue’ and ‘Somebody Should Leave’ and her much-acclaimed 1984 album ‘My Kind of Country’, recently hosted 2020 CMA Awards along with Darius Rucker. The country singer became the topic of discussion on social media after she coughed on stage in the middle of her announcements at the coveted award ceremony. It would not have been a big deal if we were not in a pandemic situation, but her sudden cough left the Internet into splits.

One individual expressed, “reba said *cough, cough* and everyone said 'covid' #CMAawards” Another added, “HAHA Reba's sudden cough sure added some humor to the night! #CMAAwards” One stated, “Only @reba could pull off making an unexpected cough during a Covid pandemic awards show funny #CMAawards”.

Apart from her hosting activities and sudden cough, the 65-year-old singer also made news for her red carpet appearance with her boyfriend Rex Linn. She posed for shutterbugs on the red carpet before hitting the stage of the award show. She apparently told People Magazine about her new relationship earlier saying, “we're both excited that he's going to be there with me.” According to Fox News, Reba revealed her romance with actor Linn, who is known for ‘Rush Hour’ and ‘Wyatt Earp’, in October 2020 during an episode of her podcast ‘Living and Learning’, where she described him as “special” and “a very, very sweetheart of a guy.”

Speaking of 2020 CMA Awards, Reba also performed with her co-host of the evening, Darius Rucker. Global musicians like Justin Bieber, Luke Combs and Miranda Lambert among others also performed at the award show. Miranda Lambert led the nominations race with seven nods followed closely by Luke Combs with six nods. The 54th edition of the renowned CMA Awards was broadcasted live from Nashville’s Music City Center on ABC Network.
