'The Fall Guy' Review: Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt sizzle in this action-packed movie
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: 'The Fall Guy' is set to hit the screens on May 3, 2024. The movie, based on the series of the same name from the 1980s tells the story of a stuntman who returns to action after quitting the field due to injury.
The much-anticipated movie follows Colt Seavers (Ryan Gosling) and Colt's love interest and camera operator Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt). Colt returns to action after leaving the business for one year to once again be the stunt double for an action star called Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) for an upcoming film that is directed by his lover Jody.

The film's script blends comedy and mystery into action which is the most natural premise for the film. The screenplay has numerous inside jokes on the film industry and many meta references.
The movie shows the inner workings of the film industry and pays homage to the stunt double community which has been largely ignored.
The story is over the top and unrealistic but it works in the larger-than-life universe that the film is creating.
The action direction is the highlight of the film. The action sequences are high-octane and pulsating from the word go. The solid action sequences are backed by great camera work and extremely upbeat music.
Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt set the screens on fire
From the very first shot of the movie, the screen presence of both main leads of the film shines through. Their electric chemistry and charisma elevate the film by a few notches.
Ryan Gosling is extremely good in both the action and comedy scenes and Emily Blunt plays the perfect foil for his character but also stands out as her character.
A special mention must go to Aaron Taylor-Johnson who is brilliant in his role as a star. He is brash, unapologetically cocky, and extremely entertaining.
Director David Leitch's tribute to stuntmen
David Leitch's films have always been very high on action and stunts but this one is a heartfelt tribute to the stunt double community. Reading between the comical lines, you can see the director trying to bring the spotlight to a community that's been long ignored.
The film's script does have its loopholes but the thrilling drama and action more than make up for it as the audience is taken on a topsy-turvy ride.
'The Fall Guy' is the quintessential action flick with a touch of humor and mystery. The film gives its audiences wholesome entertainment and reminds them that a larger-than-life entertainment film is always good to watch.
