Toby Keith reveals stomach cancer battle as fans rally to his defense against SICK TROLLS

Seven-time Grammy nominee Toby Keith took to his Instagram over the weekend to give a health update to his fans revealing that he was battling stomach cancer since last fall adding that he has been receiving treatment for the same for the last six months. The loyal fans of the country musician then rushed to Twitter to wish the musician a speedy recovery.
 
Toby Keith has been in the news earlier for his conservative Democrat remarks and his support for former POTUS Donald Trump. A few users noted on social media how they were glad the 60-year-old had stomach cancer. They slammed the haters while dubbing their remarks maniacal. Keith, who was won Entertainer of the Year by the Academy of Country Music two years in a row in 2002 and 2003, is currently on a tour for his new project and is scheduled to perform in Illinois and Michigan on June 17 and 18 respectively. There has been no official announcement of his tour cancelation.

‘Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer’

Taking to his Instagram on Sunday, June 12, Toby Keith shared the news with his close to 800K followers. In the post, he revealed, “Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery.” The ‘American Soldier’ hitmaker continued, “So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax. I am looking forward to spending this time with my family” concluding, “But I will see the fans sooner than later. I can’t wait. -T.”
 
Toby Keith in October 2021 had dropped his first album in five years called ‘Peso In My Pocket.’ He has performed at events for Presidents Donald Trump, Barack Obama and George W. Bush and also performed hundreds of shows for US service members abroad, including in Afghanistan and Iraq. In 2021, Donald Trump had awarded Keith the National Medal of Arts, which the National Endowment for the Arts describes as "the highest award given to artists and arts patrons by the United States government."

‘Can't stand his bigotry, but he's still a human being’

The fans of Toby Keith came forward to extend their support as one of the users stated, “If you're glad Toby Keith has cancer because you disagree with his political views, you are a bad person from the inside out. I said what I said.” Another, on similar lines, stated, “Watching many liberals celebrating Toby Keith having cancer. Seen other liberals praying for him. But the negative dwarfs the positive. Sad. I think it is a social media thing.”  One user shared, “Toby Keith might make terrible music, but what he *really* sucks at is not getting cancer.”
 
The next one tweeted, “I do hope I'm forgiven for my initial thoughts when i heard Toby Keith has cancer.” Meanwhile, one individual asserted, “I don't like Toby Keith and can't stand his bigotry, but he's still a human being and I wish him well. Cancer is no joking matter and I truly hopes he makes a full recovery.” One user added, “Toby Keith has cancer. What is Twitter's reaction? To discuss his politics. Just maniacal. Get a grip. Some of you need to find something to give your life meaning besides politics.” And, another concluded, “Why are people trying to canonize Toby Keith, just because he has f**king cancer?! You can miss me with that f**king bulls**t.”
