LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Acolyte' began streaming on Disney+ on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

The action-adventure 'Star Wars' series adds mystery to it as Mae (Amandla Stenberg) goes on a vengeful mission to kill four Jedi Masters. Stopping her is her twin sister Osha and Master Sol (Lee-Jung-jae).

'The Acolyte' is set a hundred years before the events of 'Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace', during a time when the Jedi Order was thriving and dark forces had yet to emerge.

The High Republic Era, as it is known, was a period when dark forces began to rise and disrupt order. The series teases a masked Sith who's identity is yet unknown but the Sith seems to be calling the shots here.

In the opening scene of the series, Mae's first target is Master Indara (Carrie-Anne Moss), whom she kills after a high-octane fight sequence between the Jedi Master and the dark-aligned Mae.

Here is a bit more about who Indara was.

Master Indara, a human Jedi in the High Republic Era, was stationed on Planet Brendork along with Master Sol. She served as the trainer of Padawan Torbin (Dean-Charles Chapman).

During her time on the planet, Master Indara was one of the four Jedi who considered testing Osha as a potential Jedi for the future.

Master Indara came out as an authoritative figure when talking to the Witches Coven particularly Mother Aniseya (Jodie Turner-Smith).

Master Indara possesses physical and mental capabilities, along with a mastery of the Force that she has developed through years of dedication and persistence. She plays a huge role in convincing Aniseya to allow Osha to give the test.

Mae, however, holds Indara and the other Jedi responsible for separating Osha from the coven and setting it on fire.

Master Indara is Mae's first target, and Mae attempts to kill her without using a weapon, but she is unsuccessful in doing so.

She eventually does kill Indara, which comes as a shock to fans who had expected her to have a longer run in the show, especially after months of promotion.

Will Indara return in 'The Acolyte'?

Fans who were disappointed by Indara's death in the first episode were surprised in Episode 3 when a flashback episode featured her return.

The story of the coven was explored in the third episode, with Master Indara playing a pivotal role in it.

The coven, however, was burned down and its story has been concluded, making it unlikely for Master Indara to return for another episode of 'The Acolyte'.

As fans of 'Star Wars', we have learned to expect the unexpected. With lingering mysteries in the show, it remains possible that we may see another flashback segment featuring Indara again.
