LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Acolyte' Episode 4 premiered on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, on Disney+.

The mystery sci-fi 'Star Wars' adventure had an epic change in the character of its twin protagonists Mae and Osha played by Amandla Stenbeg.

The character change reminded passionate fans of its connection to Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker' (2019).

As Mae embarks on a hunt for Kelnacca (Joonas Suotamo) with Qimir (Manny Jacinto), she undergoes a change of heart regarding her motives for targeting the Jedi Masters, especially upon learning that her twin, Osha, is still alive.

She attempts to escape the situation but finds herself unable to do so, as her masked master arrives to kill Kelnacca.

On the other hand, Osha also begins to feel sympathy for Mae and her story. Mae was left for dead when the commune was burned, and she was presumed dead, only to resurface later as an antagonist.

The entire change of heart of both these characters seems to be pointing at a Force Dyad connection familiar to the 'Star Wars' fans from 'The Rise of Skywalker'.

'Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker' introduced the concept of a Force Dyad where two beings exist as one within the Force.

In 'The Rise of Skywalker,' we witness the Force Dyad between two characters, Ben Solo/Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and Rey Skywalker (Daisy Ridley), who are joined by the force and have a balance of light and dark in them.

The subsequent sequels further explored this connection, revealing Rey to be a descendant of Palpatine, thereby establishing a profound link to the dark side.

On the other hand, Kylo undergoes a redemption arc where he ultimately embraces his role as an agent of light.

As we observe Mae and Osha's characters moving towards a balance, the changes in Episode 4 could be hinting at what is to come, possibly suggesting that Mae and Osha might be a Force Dyad.

What to expect from Mae and Osha in the remaining episodes of 'The Acolyte'?

As we approach the midpoint of 'The Acolyte,' anticipation builds following the revelation of the mysterious masked figure at the end of Episode 4. As Mae's reluctance grows, it drives her further apart from her mysterious master.

Osha joins the fight against the masked Sith alongside the other Jedi and Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae). We might see Mae and Osha fighting side-by-side against the masked Sith and other dark forces.

At some point, there might be a double-turn for Mae and Osha, where the reveal and backstory of the masked Sith could push Osha towards the dark side, while Mae starts displaying traits of an agent of light.
