'That's about his dating age’: SpongeBob takes a dig at Leonardo DiCaprio during Nickelodeon Super Bowl broadcast

Leonardo DiCaprio was called out for dating only women under 25, an online theory that went viral a few years ago

SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA: During the Super Bowl LVIII coverage, SpongeBob SquarePants humorously targeted Leonardo DiCaprio, who was featured in the broadcast. As DiCaprio was shown enjoying a drink, SpongeBob quipped, "Leonardo DiCaprio! 25!" After some laughter, SpongeBob clarified, "That was about his dating history," alluding to the ongoing jest that the actor tends to date women under 25.

The children's channel provided Super Bowl coverage with commentary from 'SpongeBob SquarePants' characters, accompanied by actual experts. SpongeBob and Patrick Star offered game commentary alongside CBS Sports analyst Nate Burleson and play-by-play announcer Noah Eagle, while Larry the Lobster provided live commentary, and Sandy Cheeks reported from the sidelines. This led to the internet urging everyone to tune into the Nickelodeon broadcast instead. 

“SpongeBob just made a Leonardo DiCaprio '25' joke. You guys need to be watching this Nickelodeon broadcast asap,” a comment read. Another wrote, “So glad I switched to Nickelodeon to hear SpongeBob make a joke about Leo DiCaprio only dating ppl under 25.” Someone mentioned, "Nickelodeon is wild. They showed Leonardo DiCaprio and SpongeBob just replied with ‘Leo! 25!’ Lmao what a burn.” 

Some shared how the roast was the best commentating they have ever heard.
