Piers Morgan has slammed Meghan Markle for "splitting Prince Harry from the royal family" following the couple's latest announcement that they are quitting as senior royals.

The 'Good Morning Britain' host took to Twitter to post a series of rants, criticizing the pair who revealed that they are moving abroad. Morgan had written, "People say I'm too critical of Meghan Markle - but she ditched her family, ditched her dad, ditched most of her old friends, split Harry from William & has now split him from the Royal Family."

"I rest my case," he continued. The 54-year-old had also tweeted a GIF from Harry and Meghan's wedding and had written "what Meghan wants... Meghan gets" referring to a comment that Harry had reportedly told the staff. He also called out the way that Queen was treated in addition to the other royals given that no one was told of the Duke and Duchess' decision.

"Wow. What a disgraceful way to treat the Queen. Shame on Harry and Meghan. Buckingham Palace says 'it's complicated'. Translation: the Queen's bloody furious," Morgan added. He was told to leave the couple alone by former cricketer Kevin Pietersen to which Morgan responded saying that Meghan was breaking up the royal family after "fleecing the public purse."

"As a taxpayer, and a Monarchist, I’m entitled to take a rather dim view of this," he continued. Harry and Meghan had shared the news on their Instagram and had announced that they plan to "step back" from their royal duties and will split their time between Britain and North America.

The new parents also shared that they will be "financially independent" in their new lives but will continue to fully support the Queen. Harry and Meghan's post read, "It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment."

"This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity. We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties."

"Until then, please accept our deepest thanks for your continued support," the post concluded.
