'Pay attention!’: Father finds telltale sign that daughter was targetted by sex traffickers

According to a law enforcement official, it works as an alert to let sex traffickers know someone is vulnerable

A TikTok video titled "Pay attention!!!!" that was uploaded several months ago but has now resurfaced online and gone viral shows a father explaining a disturbing tag on his daughter's car, claiming it serves as a warning to tell sex traffickers that someone is at vulnerable.

Sharing the TikTok video, the father @boogeyman0302 began by saying, “So, listen. I don’t care if you agree with a lot of my videos or not. But I definitely want you to pay attention to this one,” as per NY Post. His daughter, he said, works a late shift, often getting out of work at 3 am and then driving over an hour to get back home. “This is the third morning in a row that I found one of these on her car in the exact same spot. Back passenger door,” he said while showing a black zip tie that was secured around the car door handle. Talking about the disturbing incident, he said, “I didn’t know what it was. I just kept cutting it off."

The concerned father continued by saying, "This morning when I found it I went in there and I asked her, ‘What’s the deal with the zip tie being on your back passenger handle every morning? For the past three mornings, I’ve cut it off.’” The daughter responded that she had no idea there was a zip tie on there. The father then shared the details with his brother, who works in law enforcement. “He got extremely silent. He goes, ‘What did you just say?’ And I told him again and he said, ‘Listen man, cut that off right now. Sex traffickers and people that basically steal vulnerable women put that on a car somewhere where it’s not easily noticeable for them, but other people who actually do the stealing know exactly what that means.”

His brother said that the zip tie is basically a tag and described, “This alerts anyone who is part of the organization of sex trafficking or abductors, it lets them know that this person is vulnerable, they are by themselves, and they’re an easy target. So, if you’ve got teenage girls that are out late at night that are driving, check their car every morning. Look for a black zip tie or anything that stands out, and immediately remove it."

The location of the video has not been mentioned. But so far, it has more than 26 million views with people sharing it with caption, 'Ladies be careful,' as per NY Post.
