'Stumbleine’ is the alias of Peter Cooper.
'Stumbleine’ is the alias of Peter Cooper.

'Stumbleine’ is the alias of Peter Cooper. With roots in the UK post rock scene, the reclusive producer began blending slow dream-like pop with fractured lo-fi beats as Stumbleine in 2012. According to Peter, “'Deleted Scene' refers to the memories that play over and over inside your own head, replaying hazy copies of hazy copies that evolve into a bittersweet fever dream. Everybody has their own unique collection of deleted scenes slowly distorting and fading away.”

Faulty Cognitions drops single ahead of debut album 'Somehow, Here We Are'

Faulty Cognitions has announced their debut album, 'Somehow, Here We Are' (out April 12 on Cercle Social), and now they are back with a new single -- 'Crisis of Faith' -- from the upcoming LP.

Faulty Cognitions formed following Chris Mason’s relocation from Portland, OR, as he hooked up with bassist and long-term buddy Yole Centeno (Nocturnal Prose, Sacred Games). Having racked up a CV including Shang-A-Lang and Low Culture, Mason was keen to get things up and running with a new band as soon as possible. Guitarist Nick Obregon (also of Nocturnal Prose, Eastern Condors) and Mike Nira were soon added to the lineup, and one swiftly recorded demo later, the newly cemented foursome began work on what would become ‘Somehow, Here We Are’, their debut album.

Mason originally had visions of shooting for the middle ground between the perfect jangle of early R.E.M. and the roughshod Dunedin sound of The Clean and The Bats. The end result is something totally different.

Atomic Life releases second single 'Incense & Aries'

Atomic Life's second single 'Incense and Aries' is out now and follows last month's release of the lead single 'Hit Me First'. The 'supergroup' is made up of pillars of the New York hardcore world: Drummer Billy Rymer (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Ho9909, Thoughtcrimes), Cody Hosza (Glassjaw) on guitar, and Michael Sadis (NK) on bass. Joining them is Adea Frances; a fresh talent and multi-disciplined performance artist who compliments Atomic Life's high-energy songs with her powerful vocals and haunting lyrics.

Frances says: “'Incense & Aries' is a foreboding shadow and chilling reminder to tread carefully amidst the beauty of this world. Within enchanting facades lie lurking thorns eager to draw blood, fires ready to consume, and the ever-present threat of losing oneself in the relentless march of time.”

Lacy J Dalton's decade-spanning career gets anthology release with 'Listen to the Wind'

'Listen to the Wind', a 10-song anthology of recordings by singer-songwriter and outlaw original Lacy J Dalton, is now available for streaming. The collection features songs throughout Dalton’s career, including her 1982 hit '16th Avenue' and a brand new track, 'Bonny Doon'.

The country icon continues to tour year-round and has just been added to the 2025 Country Music Cruise lineup, which sails from January 19-26, 2025, with Dalton, John Michael Montgomery, Deana Carter, The Bellamy Brothers, and many more.

Bedroom pop star Awfultune drops new single ahead of upcoming EP

Bedroom pop artist Awfultune (Layla Eden) has released the new single 'Get High W Me', the latest offering from their forthcoming EP, 'Unreleased Demos II', out May 10.

“'Get High W Me' is about a friends-with-benefits situation where the connection is solely based on hooking up and getting high together,” Layla explains. “As all situationships go, one is playing along, while one wants more out of the relationship and is masking their true feelings for the other."

Southtowne Lanes set to release first album in eight years

Oregon’s own Southtowne Lanes has announced their new album, 'Take Care', set for release on May 10, 2024 via Dog Knights Productions. The album – a collection of tracks inspired by loss and struggling through the stages of grief – marks the band’s first new music since 2016’s 'Give Up The Ghost'.

“On the surface, this record was written largely in dedication to my father, whom passed away in a brutal and sudden manner in September of 2021,” says lead singer/guitarist Matt Kupka. “The album, song by song, dissects the stages of grief: how they relate, how they changed me, how I dealt with them, and how they led me down to the depths of my own mortality, where it seemed there could be no light.”

Fans can look forward to the first single 'Go Cold', which will be out on March 29.

Letters Sent Home drop latest single from upcoming album 'Forever Done'

German quartet Letters Sent Home have shared their newest single 'Final Battle' via SharpTone Records. This dynamic track is the last glimpse into the band’s upcoming album 'Forever Undone', delving into vocalist Emily Paschke’s experience with, and eventual escape from, religion.

“‘Final Battle’ is a first glimpse into the religious [trauma] chapter of this album. It is about escaping a toxic community I was trapped in for too long and how I am finally being able to speak up and stand up for myself,” shares Paschke.

'Forever Undone', is set to be released on April 12. The album features new single 'Final Battle' as well as recently released singles 'Request Denied', 'Elements', 'I Hope I Die First', and 'Ignorance (feat. Dead Lakes)' alongside six new tracks.

Rockers Parallels release latest single 'No Way Out'

Rock band Parallels have released their latest single, 'No Way Out' featuring Maxx Xero. With 'No Way Out', the band hopes for listeners to find the strength to ask for help when needed and to be there for those around them who are the ones reaching out.

Speaking on the new single the band says: “It's difficult when we find ourselves in challenging situations that we mistakenly believe we can't escape. This notion often stems from past trauma, trapping us in a cycle of feeling helpless. Asking for help becomes daunting, as it requires vulnerability, which may have been discouraged or met with judgment in the past. Consequently, many refrain from seeking assistance.”

Rensforshort announces date for 'Clean Hands Dirty Water'; drops new single

Toronto-born, LA-based genre-bending sensation Renforshort, born Lauren Isenberg, has announced her new project 'Clean Hands Dirty Water', out May 17, along with her new single, 'Hurt Like It Should" out now.

'Clean Hands Dirty Water' features the previous single 'Serpentine'. 'Clean Hands Dirty Water' mines coming-of-age moments and emotional isolation to reveal raw, bittersweet alt-pop ballads and bangers. The EP's artwork is done entirely in charcoal – an objectively dirty medium.

Renforshort explains, "The younger you are, things feel a lot heavier. Your hands feel dirty with something someone said to you once that you think will never go away, or a direction that your life is taking that you feel you don't have any control over… But you do. You can wash your hands. Charcoal's not that hard to get off. You really could have a fresh start if you wash your hands."

Alien Pop Music icons Einstürzende Neubauten to release double album 'Rampen'

On April 5, Einstürzende Neubauten will release their new double album 'Rampen' (apm: alien pop music). The band has also dropped the first single -- 'Ist Ist' -- from the upcoming release.

Since the band was founded on April 1, 1980, Einstürzende Neubauten has been shifting the parameters of mainstream and subculture to make the inaudible audible ‒ perhaps the unheard as well. This experimental field research, spanning more than four decades, is now entering the next stage. In its 44th year of existence, the band is going back to its roots while redefining itself. It's a change in self-image, for which the Berlin quintet plus one created its own genre in 2024: apm – alien pop music.

Emily James's follow-up 'The aLtErNaTeS, Pt 1.' begins with single 'London'

After sharing her exploration into the downfall of love with 'The aLtErNaTeS, Pt 1.', LA singer-songwriter, Emily James announces 'Pt. 2' with a song for anyone wanting to escape their day-to-day in search of something more. In 'London', there’s an air of wanderlust in Emily’s vocals, making the listener feel like anything is possible.

Emily explains: "'London’ represents the initial feelings you might have when a breakup is fresh. There's a lot of emotions and you don't really want to face all of them so you turn to escaping; in this case literally escaping the country and romanticizing the idea of starting an entirely new life. The song slips between feelings of sadness, a bit of bitterness, and a bit of convincing yourself you're fine."

Fears new album 'Affinity' out now

Dublin-born, London-based interdisciplinary artist Fears (Constance Keane) has released her new album 'Affinity' via TULLE, the women-led independent record label that Constance runs.

'Affinity' serves as the follow-up to Fears' 2021 debut 'Oíche' and showcases collaborations with Jemima Coulter, Ailbhe Reddy, and Sophie Gwen Williams. The record arrives after the release of acclaimed singles 'Cliff', '11249' and '4th of the 1st'.

Wild Rivers releases lastest single 'Cave', announce European winter tour

Platinum indie-trio Wild Rivers have dopped their latest single, 'Cave', a driving alt-pop track that layers elements of blues and rock under smooth vocal harmonies.

The track was co-written with pop production duo Myriot (Aurora, IDER, Halsey), Jarrad Kritzstein (Ruston Kelly, Elohim), and Kate York (Little Big Town, Nashville). The band says: "This song is about having no self-control in a relationship that you know isn’t good for you. You tell someone that you’re absolutely done, but everybody knows it isn’t true. You’re more than ready to abandon your self-respect and go back to the person."

'Cave' is the second new song from the group in 2024, following 'Everywhere I Go', their first single in over a year, which was co-written with Alex Hope (Troye Sivan, Selena Gomez) and Brett Truitt (Banners, Shoffy). The new songs follow a February tour supporting Grammy-nominated artist Noah Kahan on his sold-out UK/EU run. Following the support run, the band announced a headline UK/European tour this November that will start in Berlin on November 4 and include stops in Paris, Glasgow, Berlin, London, and more.

NC's Totally Slow release new album 'The Darkness Intercepts'

North Carolina's Totally Slow have released their fourth LP 'The Darkness Intercepts' via Refresh Records. Totally Slow "has combined the melodic anthems of 1980s SoCal bands like The Adolescents, Agent Orange and The Faction, with the skewed rawk of ‘90s San Diego bands Drive Like Jehu and Truman’s Water, and the righteous conviction of classic DC hardcore like Dag Nasty, Gray Matter and Fugazi".

Eddie Sanchez (Night!Night!, Solar Halos, The Love Language) has recently joined on bass, completing the current lineup which includes Andy Foster, Chuck Johnson, and Scott Hicks.

Guitarist and vocalist Scott Hicks says, “We wanted to find a more dynamic balance for this record. The track order wasn't taken lightly and there are lot of interesting samples and between-song transitions that I hope folks can find the time to receive fully as a whole piece."

JM Stevens releases second a,bum 'Nowehere to Land'

Americana and roots rock/pop singer, songwriter, and producer, JM Stevens returns three years after his well-received solo debut, 'Invisible Lines'. The new collection, the 10-song 'Nowhere to Land' is an overall mellower, more vulnerable record than its predecessor, though still speckled with some up-tempo rockers. It’s a thoughtful album further set apart by Stevens’ nuanced songcraft, intimate vocals, and organic production. The album will be released on April 12, 2024.

Tracking with a trusted band of local ringers and producing/mixing himself, Stevens retained a rare visceral energy on 'Nowhere to Land'. Players include Uncle Lucius luminaries Jonny “Keys” Grossman (keyboards) and Doug Strahan (guitars); drummer George Duron (Jon Dee Graham, Roky Erickson) and  bassist-about-town Dave Wesselowski. Throughout, exquisite harmonizing from lauded Austin folk singer BettySoo underlines the poignancy of key lines, with further cultured contributions from Shinyribs member and longtime Robert Earl Keen bandmate Marty Muse (resonator, pedal steel) and a guest spot on the darkly wistful “Cobwebs” from fiddler/vocalist Beth Chrisman (The Carper Family, Lost Patterns).

Mikahl Anthony drops 'La Flare' ahead of debut album 'Muse'

Mikahl Anthony premieres 'La Flare', his debut single and music video from his upcoming full-length debut album 'Muse' via Belgium’s R&S Records.
