Lara Trump says Donald Trump could still win as she downplays reports of POTUS skipping Joe Biden's inauguration
Fox News host Stuart Varney had laughed off Lara Trump's suggestion that POTUS Donald Trump maybe the one who gets inaugurated on January 20.
Varney had asked the 2020 campaign adviser and daughter-in-law to Trump to comment on the reports that Trump is supposedly planning a Turnberry, Scotland, golf outing versus attending President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration ceremony later this month.
Lara said, "I don't know anything about Scotland" travel plans while she responded to the question even though a Scottish newspaper, The Sunday Post, had reported the planned arrival of a US military Boeing 757 aircraft at the Glasgow Prestwick Airport on January 19, Newsweek reports.
Lara seemed to totally downplay the report of Trump missing the inauguration to play golf and instead provided a distorted version of how Trump would be in town for his own inauguration. "I don't know the president's plans on inauguration day, so unfortunately I can't speak to whether he'll be in Scotland or Washington, D.C."
"It would be pretty tough to attend the inauguration of an opponent you know you beat, Stuart. There are so many questions surrounding this election I think it would be hard for anyone to just sit there and watch that," she revealed.
A former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and Trump confidante said that Trump should attend the inauguration as "lots of other people have gone through very difficult losses" and have still attended such as Hillary Clinton around four years ago, and Al Gore in 2000.
Lara said, "I don't know anything yet about Scotland, look there is a reality that it could be Donald Trump who gets inaugurated on January 20. We still have to wait and see what happens, we have a bunch of senators that are calling for an investigation now, a 10-day investigation, to see about all the voter fraud and—" before she was cut off by Varney. "Forgive me Lara, I think that's a real stretch. That is a major league long shot to suggest Donald J. Trump will be reinaugurated 15 days from now," Varney shared.
We had earlier reported that Trump was heard on an hour-long call with the Georgia Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, to "find" enough votes to overturn his defeat on Saturday, January 2. Trump was heard pressuring Raffensperger and other officials to look for enough votes in the state's presidential election so that he can be declared the winner, according to a shocking audio clip that was obtained by CBS News. During the call, Trump told Raffensperger, "All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state."
The contents of the call were initially reported by The Washington Post that also published the audio. Trump lost the 2020 elections to President-elect Joe Biden by 11,799 votes in Georgia. Ever since the November election, ballots cast in the state have been counted three times with Biden's win being confirmed all three times, something Trump has not been able to accept.
