Kyle Rittenhouse has continued to be controversial even after being acquitted of the Kenosha murders. The 19-year-old attracted fresh criticism on Thursday with a tweet against Joe Biden where he referred to LeBron James' now-famous 'lemon heads' remark. Rittenhouse was charged with first-degree homicide after shooting two people and injuring one during the Kenosha protests in August 2021. In November, during his trial, Rittenhouse pleaded that he had only acted in self-defense. The jury decided that he was not guilty and cleared him of all charges.

Rittenhouse burst into tears after the verdict and started a frenzy of memes as people trolled him for his "exaggerated" and "fake" reaction. Basketball player LeBron James tweeted, "What tears????? I didn't see one. Man knock it off! That boy ate some lemon heads before walking into court. [x3 laughing emojis]." In a dig at US President Joe Biden on Thursday, March 17, Rittenhouse tweeted a meme and referred to LeBron's quip about the sour candy. "No, it's not Lemon Heads.. it's the burning hole in my pocket thanks to a Joe Biden presidency.. [x2 laughing emojis]."

People were quick to slam Rittenhouse for his tweet. One user said, "Kyle Rittenhouse posted a video with him crying his crocodile tears during his ridiculous sham trial mashed up to make it look like he’s doing it at a gas pump. He thinks this is funny. He killed two people and maimed another. He is a murderer and a fucking asshole." Another wrote, "When we told you Kyle Rittenhouse is a sociopathic bag of garbage it was because Kyle Rittenhouse is a sociopathic bag of garbage."

A third user tweeted, "Kyle Rittenhouse is a domestic terrorist. Change my mind." Another said, "It's long past time for that evil little fucker Kyle Rittenhouse's 15 minutes to expire," while one added, "Dear Kyle Rittenhouse, Do you really believe that your latest video was a good choice? Maybe ask your civil defense lawyer. May the families of those you killed and maimed sue you for every penny you will ever earn."

While one user commented, "Kyle Rittenhouse posted a video when he was on the stand in his murder trial with his crocodile tears mashed up at a gas station to complain about gas prices! The stupid jury let a Murderer off & this is what we get! #Rittenhouse is a F*%King Monster & its getting worse! #Karma," another quipped, "If you dislike Kyle Rittenhouse, we can so be friends." A third felt, "Kyle Rittenhouse making a joke of his 'breakdown' during his [mis]trial for murdering 2 people proves he was acting on the stand. No remorse, no shame."

One user added, "Kyle Rittenhouse is a scumbag. Period," while another noted, "Kyle Rittenhouse is telling us that he was acting during his emotional testimony in his trial." One tweet read, "Republicans get really upset when you accurately point out that Kyle Rittenhouse got away with murder because they know it's true." Another said, "Man it's almost like Kyle Rittenhouse was faking that crying at trial, now he gets to shitpost about gas prices after murdering two people."

Rittenhouse didn't seem to be affected by the trolling, as he later tweeted, "I'll take mean tweets and low gas prices any day. Who can relate?!" This wasn't the first time the teenager mentioned LeBron James' tweet. In December 2021, on The BlazeTV's show with Elijah Schaffer, he said, "I was a Lakers fan too before he said that. I was really pissed off that he said that. I liked LeBron, and then I'm like, 'You know what, f**ck you, LeBron.'"
