Then, they were confirmed to be dating, which was significant as it was NeNe's first public relationship since the passing of her husband Gregg Leakes from colon cancer just a few months prior in September.
Then, NeNe was said to be constantly beaming and unable to wipe the smile off her face whenever she was with her new beau. The couple reportedly crossed paths through a mutual connection with Cynthia Bailey's ex-husband, Peter Thomas, a former costar on 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta.'
"It's still very new but she's almost like a teenager with him, just light and giggly and feeling those new relationship butterflies," a source told People magazine.
"Today, we are taking a break. We've been taking a break," Leakes shared on the episode.

"The way you love on me & take care of me…grateful!" she captioned the post. One of the photos featured Nyonisela sporting a camouflage suit, capturing the loving and supportive relationship they share.
Half a year later, the duo made a stunning appearance on the red carpet at the prestigious 2022 BET Awards, stunning onlookers with their coordinated outfits in a deep, midnight blue hue. It was at this star-studded event that NeNe candidly spoke about the profound impact that her connection with Sioh had on her life following the tragic loss of her husband.

Nyonisela Sioh is a fashion designer who is the creative mind behind the menswear label Nyoni Couture, which is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. He offers a wide range of personalized garments such as custom suits, tuxedos, shirts, footwear, and accessories both through his online platform and physical retail shop.
During a July 2020 interview with DailyGuide Network, Nyonisela shared that his fashion inspirations are a blend of his African roots and contemporary Western influences.
"I am a very passionate individual and highly motivated. I am motivated by people, products and the planet. For as long as I have known myself, I have been heavily interested in fashion. I have transformed my passion for being fashionable into compassion to provide high-quality apparels for men at affordable costs," the Liberian-born designer said.
He went on to say, "Growing up in Liberia schools, I wore uniforms. I remember looking forward to what we call 'Color Day,' meaning students were allowed to wear ordinary clothing to school for the day, and the best male and female students were awarded a prize. I won a lot of those prizes."
Nyonisela Sioh's estranged wife Malomine Tehmeh-Sioh sued NeNe Leakes
Malomine Tehmeh-Sioh, who was once married to Sioh but is now estranged from him, filed a lawsuit against NeNe. In the lawsuit, she alleged that Leakes had caused her emotional distress, humiliation, and had even contributed to the breakdown of her marriage to Sioh by interfering and causing a loss of affection between them.
On June 2, 2022, TMZ released an article detailing Tehmeh-Sioh's decision to pursue legal action against her ex-spouse, citing irreconcilable differences as the grounds for seeking restitution exceeding $100,000 in the state of North Carolina.
The day after, NeNe took to Instagram to address the rumors, claiming that the story was completely false. In a video posted on her account, she vehemently denied being involved in any husband-stealing activities, stating,"I'm already out here a husband stealer, and this is too much."
"And ain't nobody out here stealing husbands. Are they? I would never. Nobody wants to steal nobody else's problems, honey," she continued.
