ORLANDO, FLORIDA: Following his dismissal from office on Friday, December 1, 2023, former Representative George Santos (R-NY) threatened in late-night social media posts to bring ethical complaints against several of his House colleagues.

The disgraced Republican was expelled from the House due to allegations made by a committee that he used campaign funds for personal expenses and Botox, which Santos has referred to as a "politicized smear".

George Santos to lodge formal complaints against House colleagues

The fallen congressman threatened to sue Representatives Rob Menendez (D-NJ), Mike Lawler (R-NY), Nick LaLota (R-NY), Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY), and others over allegations of unethical behavior and campaign finance violations.

According to The Hill, the troubled former congressman announced that he would lodge formal complaints on Monday, December 4.

Santos revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that he would be complaining to the Office of Congressional Ethics about all four on Monday.

According to Santos, Malliotakis's "questionable stock trading since joining the Ways and Means committee this Congress" will serve as the main subject of the accusation against her.

Santos wrote on X, "Let’s talk about hypocrisy. Can someone ask Nicole MalioStockTips when did she become a savant in stock trading?"

"The signature bank trades she did REEKS of insider trading much like Paul Pelosi’s every trade!" he said, referring to the former speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) and her husband, who has been charged with misusing congressional secrets for stock market gain.

He claimed that while LaLota was attending law school, he was a “no-show” at a job he had at the local board of elections.

In response, a LaLota representative told The Hill, "George is just mad the congressman has three actual degrees, while he lied about one."

Santos asked, "Did Rep Lalota no-show to his tax pay funded job while going to school and if so he can potential have stolen public funds form the tax payers of NY?"

"I will let the Office of Congressional Ethics determine the validity of this grave allegation raised in his local media," he added.

Santos described Lawler as having "questionable campaign finance violations," claiming that he had paid for "services related to his campaign" through a political firm he co-founded.

According to a City & State New York story from 2022, Lawler's political campaigns paid thousands of dollars in consulting fees to his firm.

Santos concluded his rant by saying that Menendez needs to be looked into concerning his father — New Jersey Democratic senator Bob Menendez — who is accused of accepting bribes and serving as an Egyptian agent abroad. However, Menendez has refuted these allegations.

The younger Menendez will "not expend any energy responding" to Santos' "Botox-fueled fits of rage," a representative told The Hill.

Internet users mock George Santos' late-night social media rant

Social media users were quick to mock and make fun of the disgraced congressman for his late-night rant about threatening allegations.

One user mockingly wrote on X, "It makes sense since he has nothing else to do."

A second user followed up and wrote, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."

A third one shared a funny meme to make light of Santos' statement.

"I guarantee you he was hitting the slopes," quipped another one.

One more seethed, "Criminal George Santos, you're gone, enough of your lies to American people."
