'The Voice' Season 19 Finale: Ian Flanigan's soulful performance has fans saying 'he should be making records'
After a nail-biting journey, the top five contestants John Holiday, Desz, Jim Ranger, Carter Rubin and Ian Flanigan reached the finale of ‘The Voice’ Season 19. The first part of the Live finale kickstarted with performances from 15-year-old Carter Rubin and Desz. Just like always, the contestants performed cover songs but since it is the finale, they also made use of the platform to debut their original songs. Therefore, we will see the top five artistes performing twice on stage.
Ian Flanigan from Team Blake gave his first performance of the night where he covered ‘In Color’ by Jamey Johnson but not before he spoke behind the stage about how his journey on ‘The Voice’ has been. He revealed that the singing reality show will always hold a special place in his life adding that he has no idea what he will do if he wins the show.
Ian, who has seen quite the ups and downs through his journey in Season 19 of the reality series, absolutely mesmerised the judges with his magical performance. Coaches John Legend and Blake Shelton also did not shy away from showering praises on the talented crooner. The Internet was also quick to react to Ian’s performance as many feel he might end up winning the show.
Speaking on the same lines, one user stated, “@NBCTheVoice This season is insane. I love every artist in this finale and every one of them has brought me to tears! I don't even like county but I'm already preparing to buy Ian Flanigan's album! #VoiceFinale” Another expressed, “Ian Flanigan when you win The Voice I'll buy your music you have a very unique voice. You will go far #TheVoice.”
A user noted, “Ian Flanigan gets the artistic opening b4 we get a look, so we can focus on the exotic sound of his vocal. Be comforted by his storytelling. Idk this song but I’m sold. Solid, emotive vocal presentation. He is in a lane all his own.”
One shared, “Can believe Ian Flanigan made it this far on The Voice. But yet again the last three seasons have been won by country singers. His voice is rough, horse, gruff and sound all the same.#TheVoice @TheVoiceABSCBN.” Another posted, “@NBCTheVoice Ian Flanigan should be making records now.. what a great voice!!”
