LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'House of the Dragon' Season 2, which will stream on HBO from June 16, 2024, is a large-scale adventure series. The show is often associated with gruesome action sequences and physical warfare but an underrated aspect of the series is its sinister psychological warfare and Season 2 will feature an event that will push the boundaries of ruthless cerebral warfare.

'House of the Dragon' Season 1 ended with the death of Lucerys Velaryon (Elliot Grihault) at the hands of Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell) and his dragon Vhagar. As Lucerys' mother Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D' Arcy) deals with the loss,  Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) takes matters into his own hands to avenge the death of his step-son.

Daemon has a history of being around the Flea Bottom and has sources deep into King's Landing. He exploits those sources to hire two assassins named Blood and Cheese.

Blood and Cheese are two new characters in Season 2 who are hired assassins of Daemon Targaryen. Blood will be played by Sam C Wilson and Cheese will be played by Mark Stobbart.

Blood is a physically strong former member of the Gold Cloaks and Cheese is a smart rat catcher. Both Blood and Cheese have been tasked to take revenge on King Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney) by killing him and Queen Haelaena Targaryen's (Phia Saban) son Prince Jaehaerys

Blood and Cheese are aware of the secret passages of the Red Keep and make their way into Alicent Hightower's (Olivia Cooke) room where they hide and wait for Haelaena to come for her customary visit to Alicent before her children go to bed.

Blood and Cheese kill Prince Jaehaerys but not before psychologically scarring Helaena Targaryen. They make her choose the death of one of her sons Jaehaerys, Maelor, and daughter Jaehaera, who they threaten to rape.

Jaehaerys is her firstborn son and her heir so she asks them to kill Maelor. Blood and Cheese however kill Jaehaerys and take his head leaving the rest of the children and Helaena alive.

Blood and Cheese are tasked to bring his head to Daemon who is at Harrenhall but they fail to do so as Blood gets caught and the head is recovered from him.

In the aftermath of the psychological torture, Helaena falls deep into depression. The entire event is important as it begins the war between Blacks and Greens as King Aegon goes all out for revenge for the death of his son.
