A statement was released soon by the American Jewish Committee, stating, “Black Hebrew Israelites chanting 'We are the real Jews' is a troubling antisemitic trope with dangerous potential. We cannot allow this supremacist ideology to spread and gain greater acceptance,” reported the Daily Mail.

Commentator John Sexton wrote on HotAir, “If you had a right wing group chanting this kind of anti-Semitic ideology about the Jews in Brooklyn, it would be on the front page of the NY Times tomorrow.” While on Unherd, commentator Ralph Leonard wrote, “Black Hebrew Israelites are obviously a racist cult. Their creed is as wacky and crackpot as Scientology; their historical revisionism is based on Afrocentric myth.”

Flyers were being handed out by the group, which read “The truth about slavery. The so-called Blacks and Hispanics are 'the 12 tribes of Israel!' You are the children of the slave trade!” as per The Jerusalem Post.

Thanks to Kanye, they're about to become a lot more popular.” Another said, “Radical factions of the black-supremacist group known as Black Hebrew Israelites have emerged in NYC, marching and chanting anti-Jewish hate. This movement is spreading and its leaders are growing increasingly militant.” Another one wrote, "Yeah I don’t think being supported by Hebrew Israelites are is the best thing. This is a terrible look." "That's them Black Hebrew Israelites. They've been around for a bit and they believe some...um...*unorthodox* things Here's some guys in StL in north county," said another.
