Last week on Thursday, January 21, 2021, Season 4 Episode 6 titled 'Freshman Orientation and the Inventor of the Zipper' finally aired after a hiatus. Unfortunately, there is no new episode this week or the next. Yes, there is another hiatus. A new episode of the CBS drama 'Young Sheldon' will air the week after next and until then, the show will rebroadcast old episodes. This week, Season 4 Episode 3 'Training Wheels and an Unleashed Chicken' will air on Thursday, January 28, and Season 4 Episode 5 'A Musty Crypt and a Stick to Pee On' will air on Thursday, February 4. Then we finally have a new episode. While there is no official reason as to why there is a delay in the airing of new episodes, reports indicate that it could be due to filming delays that had occurred due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Yes! There's finally a synopsis for the new episode and it's guest cast as well. Sheldon is about to "butt heads" with his new philosophy professor. The synopsis for Season 4 Episode 7 reads, "Sheldon's (Iain Armitage) first day of college is derailed by his new philosophy teacher, Professor Ericson. Also, Mary (Zoe Perry) and Brenda live vicariously through Missy's first day of middle school." The recurring cast members include Ed Begley, Jr. as Professor Linkletter, Melissa Peterman as Brenda Sparks, and Wyatt McClure as Billy Sparks. The guest cast of the episode includes Melanie Lynskey as Professor Ericson and PJ Ochlan as Rene Descartes.
