The ten-episodic series is a direct continuation of 'X-Men: The Animated Series' (1992–1997), carrying forward the story of the X-Men who face new adversities following the loss of their leader, Professor X.

Heaping praises for the Disney+ series, someone tweeted, "X Men 97 What A Show Man. Became one of my fav superhero anime ever..everything to story voice acting fan service music action is on point even comic suits. Highly recommended!!! Easily it will become ur fav show and u wanna see the original too after finishing it."

"I was legit gasping for air watching all those cameos and scenes mcu has done it again the top tier writing and god level screen play with the perfect animation cast woahh x men 97 will remain my fav for a long time ahhhh cant believe there are no new episodes though," wrote another impressed fan.

The gripping conclusion to 'X-Men '97' has left fans wanting more. Apocalypse makes a villainous return in the post-credits scene. A hint at Gambit's return opens the possibility for a sequel to the series.

Soon after the finale aired, a fan took to X and wrote, "I need season 2 of X men 97 ASAP!!!"

What happens in 'X-Men '97' finale episode?

In the final moments of 'X-Men '97', Professor Xavier delves into Magneto's mind, making him realize that humans are not his adversaries and instead Bastion poses the real threat.

Upon awakening, Magneto rushes to Asteroid M and uses his magnetic powers to divert it away from Earth, preventing disaster. However, the asteroid explodes in space, seemingly taking most of the X-Men with it, leaving their fate uncertain.

Six months later, Forge embarks on a mission to locate the missing X-Men. Bishop resurfaces, seeking Forge's aid in retrieving the scattered X-Men across different timelines. Just before Asteroid M explodes, they must flee.

X-Men awaken in ancient Egypt, realizing they are stranded in the past.
