Release date
'Worst Cooks in America' Season 20 will feature seven episodes and will start premiering every Sunday night, starting June 21, 2020.
Plot
Following the format of the show, chefs and mentors Anne Burrell and Alex Guarnaschelli will welcome 14 of America's worst cooks within the premiere episode. Although flustered and uncertain about the skills of these cooks, the chefs will receive them with open arms. The first episode is always about picking teams for the mentors and to do that both Anne and Alex will determine what they're working with. For the same, all 14 recruits will participate in a baseline challenge and the main dish challenge. For this season, in the baseline challenge, all the recruits will be seen recreating their favorite dish from their childhood. The main dish challenge will see making the famed Jamaican jerk chicken. After both the challenges, Anne and Alex will pick their recruits to form their respective team. The two contestants who don't manage to get picked by either of the chefs will be sent home at the end of the episode.
Some of the challenges in Season 20 include Japanese cuisine themed sushi-rolling and bento box challenge, blindfolded doughnut-eating contest and a trip through past kitchen disasters. The finale episode will air on Sunday, August 2 and will feature two of the most-improved recruits indulging in a cook-out. They will both be required to prepare a three-course restaurant-quality meal for judges Mary Giuliani, Julian Rodarte and James Tahhan. The cook-off will be followed by a blind taste-test and the winner will take home $25,000 while also earning bragging rights for their team leader.
