Why did Dorit Kemsley's security alarm not go off during robbery? 'RHOBH' fans doubt her story
Season 13 of 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' kicked off on a pretty dramatic and spine-chilling note when the security camera footage of armed robbery at Dorit Kemsley's house was telecast. Fans watched in horror as two masked men trespassed into the Kemsleys' home and proceeded to rob the 'RHOBH' star at gunpoint.
Fans quietly watched the aftermath of the robbery, as a visibly shaken Dorit and the other housewives tried their best to process the nightmare incident. In her confessional, Dorit recounted the entire robbery scene and broke down while expressing how she had to plead with the robbers to not hurt her or her children. Thankfully the robbers didn't hurt anybody and quietly left the property with stolen valuables. Though fans felt terrible about what happened to the 'RHOBH' star in her own home, fans however, couldn't help but wonder why Dorit's security alarms didn't go off and alert the police.

The housewife answered it during her appearance on 'Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen' after the show's premiere. When Andy asked her about the security cameras and if 'RHOBH' alum Teddi Mellencamp's Husband Edwin Arroyave's company installed them for her. Dorit cleared the air by admitting that she turned off the security system on the night of the burglary. She explained that sometimes her children tend to "drift" downstairs during the night and end up setting off the alarm accidentally, so to avoid that the Kemsleys reportedly turn off the security alarm at night.
Though Dorit didn't reveal who installed her security system, fans continued to question her explanation and wondered if she was covering up for Teddi and her husband because the alarm didn't work. A fan tweeted, "I do not believe the story about Dorit’s alarm being off. Sounds to me like she’s covering for Teddi #RHOBH." "I’m not buying Dorit’s story about the alarm being off. I think the alarm didn’t work and she doesn’t want to throw Teddi and Edwin under the bus #RHOBH #WWHL," wrote a fan. "Did any of these people setup Dorit's alarm? #RHOBH," wondered a fan.

Fans also found it hard to believe that Dorit turned off her alarm for her children's sake. A fan shared, "How was your alarm not on Dorit?! Kids sleep with you when your husband is out of town but they’re able to “drift” downstairs on the middle of the night and set off an alarm? Make it make sense #rhobh #WWHL." "So Dorit had an alarm but didn’t arm it?Alone w/2 littlekids, pricey babbles/bags known to any1 who the show. With littles, she sleeps w/her door closed yet she’s afraid they’d “wander” in the night so no alarm? Either she’s not bright or she was seeking a storyline. #RHOBH," expressed a fan. "So Dorit’s alarm system doesn’t have a “stay” setting? Nor zone control settings? Sounds like a trashy system. *cough* fake *cough* #RHOBH," pointed out a fan. "Now Dorit… the alarm story is not adding up #WWHL #RHOBH," echoed a fan.
