'The Voice' Season 24 finalist Huntley reveals why he chose former One Direction member Niall Horan over John Legend
UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIFORNIA: Huntley's uptempo song pick 'Higher' was the last performance on 'The Voice' on December 18. But, before he performed for the final time on the NBC broadcast before the winner was declared, he disclosed who his genuine choice for a coach was.
Huntley brought his daughter Stella up on stage after he got all four coaches to turn during his blind audition, and she selected Team Niall for her father. Huntley told host Carson Daly on Monday night's program that if his daughter hadn't chosen Niall Horan, the singer would have chosen Team Legend.
Not for nothing, Huntley closed out the night with a rocking performance of this Creed classic! 🤘 #TheVoice pic.twitter.com/KCVqm0InlY

Niall Horan calls Huntley's final 'The Voice' performance 'euphoric'
Huntley sang Creed's 'Higher' as the night's last act. Huntley sobbed as he said that 'The Voice' has given him the opportunity to follow his ambition even as a father.
Niall was mesmerized by Huntley's performance, which he described as "euphoric". "Vote for Huntley, people!" he exhorted the audience.
Who is Huntley on 'The Voice' Season 24?
Huntley, a loving father who has just found his musical footing with regional touring engagements all across his home state of Virginia, got off to the hottest start conceivable on 'The Voice' this season. In Blind Auditions, he wowed all four coaches with an incredible performance of The Black Crowes' 'She Talks to Angels'. His family watched and the coaches gushed with early praise.
"I'm worried that you might win this show," Gwen Stefani said in her stunned Blind Audition comments.
That Four-Chair Turn offered Huntley his choice this season from among The Voice's four legendary musical coaches — and in a fresh twist on candidates picking their coach, Huntley invited his daughter Stella onstage to let her make the ultimate selection. Her pick? To have her father join Team Niall.
Huntley released new song before joining 'The Voice'
Huntley has been a musician's booking agent since 2022. He has, however, since become a full-time musician, performing 5 times each week.
The singer's debut single 'Holdin On' was released in 2022. He also posted a video of himself performing the original song 'Fire & Flames' on Instagram.
'The Voice' Season 24 finale results will be announced on December 19, at 9 pm ET on NBC.
