BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTES: Margaret 'Maggie' Mbitu was a 31-year-old woman from Whitman, Massachusetts, who was discovered fatally stabbed in a car after her family reported her missing.

Following the discovery of the real estate agent's tragic fate, law enforcement initiated a comprehensive search for her partner and chief suspect, 40-year-old Kevin Kangethe from Lowell, who hastily boarded a flight to Kenya from Boston.

What were the circumstances surrounding Margaret Mbitu's disappearance?

I-Team sources have disclosed that Margaret suffered fatal stab wounds, and she was located in the passenger seat of the vehicle. Law enforcement swiftly issued an arrest warrant for Kangethe, charging him with the murder of the young woman.

They are collaborating with Kenyan authorities in a relentless pursuit to locate and apprehend the suspect.

Margaret's harrowing ordeal began when her family reported her missing, growing increasingly concerned after she was last seen leaving her job in Halifax on Monday night, October 30. In a desperate bid for her safe return, her coworkers took to social media to post a flyer, offering prayers for her wellbeing.

Further, WBZ-TV's I-Team was the first to report that a "be on the lookout" alert for the vehicle was issued around 6:30 pm on Wednesday.

The car was eventually located overnight, parked inside the Central Parking garage at Logan Airport. Sources have revealed that investigators are meticulously reconstructing a timeline of events using video surveillance.

International efforts to apprehend suspect Kevin Kangethe gain momentum

The news of Margaret's tragic demise has left family friend Jane Wambu devastated.

She regarded her as a daughter and expressed sorrow, saying, "It's just very, very unfortunate that somebody would choose to do what they have done. It's definitely such a great loss to the parents, to her relatives, and to the community at large, and I would say to the nation," reported CBS

As the search intensifies, the FBI, which has an international operations office in Nairobi, Kenya, is likely cooperating with local authorities to trace Kangethe and facilitate his extradition back to the United States to face charges.

"The United States has an extradition treaty with Kenya, so things look very good in terms of Kenyan authorities cooperating," former FBI special agent Jennifer Coffindaffer said.
