Where was Makayla Fay Meave-Byers last seen?

The last known sighting of Makayla Fay Meave-Byers dated back to September 15, when she was seen leaving her home around 5:30 pm in Macomb, Oklahoma, as per News Channel 8 reports.

She was last observed entering a white Chevrolet pick-up truck with tinted windows.

Tragically, her body was later discovered wrapped in waterlogged remnants of what appeared to be old pieces of carpet.

This discovery took place in a drainage culvert measuring nearly four feet, situated within a creek that flowed beneath a road in Macomb, after the body was reported around 6 pm off of Hamilton Road, east of Prospect Road.

The medical examiner officially confirmed her identity as Makayla Fay Meave-Byers on September 22.

As of the latest update, the exact cause of Makayla Fay Meave-Byers' death and the approximate time of her passing remain undetermined, according to statements from the undersheriff.

However, it is unequivocally being treated as a case of foul play.

How was Makayla Fay Meave-Byers's body found?

The investigative efforts involved the use of drones and search dogs, with the active participation of Meave-Byers' family members in the search for their beloved relative, as noted by the undersheriff.

Based on information shared on the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page previously on September 17, Meave-Byers left her residence voluntarily, departing in a white Chevrolet extended cab pickup with tinted windows.

The vehicle she was last observed in was a truck with an extended cab.

The driver of the vehicle was described as a tall male with balding hair and a dark-colored beard, Pottawatomie County Undersheriff Travis Dinwiddie told People Magazine.

Makayla Fay Meave-Byers was in an open relationship with her husband, and her whereabouts had not been confirmed since her departure for the potential date.

Unfortunately, investigators currently do not possess a license plate number associated with this vehicle, as indicated in her prior missing persons report.

What did Makayla Fay Meave-Byers's family say?

Andria Meave, Makayla Fay Meave-Byers' older sister, spoke warmly about her, emphasizing her dedication as a loving mother, saying, "She's a great mother; it's all she cares about".

Concerned by the fact that they were unable to reach her, which was out of character for the family-oriented mother, her family reported her as missing on the following day.

Regarding the investigation, the undersheriff mentioned the challenge of locating anyone who could corroborate information, stating, "We haven't been able to locate anyone like that to try to verify anything."
