LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK: A disturbing portrait of a woman seized from the alleged Giglo beach serial killer’s residence apparently bears an eerie resemblance to a slain Las Vegas woman, whose severed legs were found in Illinois days after her disappearance in 2005. Rex Heuermann was arrested from his office on July 13 on charges related to the murders of four sex workers, whose bodies were found on an isolated Long Island beach in December 2010.

Following Heuermann’s arrest, authorities raided his Massapequa Park residence, a rundown red house, where they found a plethora of grizzly items, including a massive trove of up to 300 firearms, a child-sized doll, a Playboy magazine, film negatives, and a poster from the TV show “M*A*S*H”. During the raid, law enforcement also confiscated an unsettling portrait that depicts the face of a blond woman, characterized by dark pupils and noticeable bruising beneath her eyes, according to the NY Post. Now several media reports claim the eerie portrait bears resemblance to Long Island’s Lindsay Marie Harris, who moved to Las Vegas just a few months before her disappearance.

Who was Lindsay Marie Harris?

Harris was only 21 years old when she moved to Las Vegas in 2003 with her boyfriend, who she met in New York, according to Review-Journal. She was reported missing in May 2005 after she vanished from her home in Henderson. She was last seen at a local bank, making a deposit. Her rental car was later found abandoned in the desert on the southern end of the valley, and her credit cards were unused. Following her disappearance, it was revealed that she had been arrested five times by Las Vegas police for prostitution since she moved to the valley in 2003.

Investigators immediately launched an extensive search to locate Harris but no lead was found about her whereabouts until a group of children found her severed leg on Interstate 55, near Divernon, 20 miles south of Springfield. Less than 24 hours later, authorities found a second leg. Both legs were eventually positively identified and linked directly to Harris. Law authorities initially suspected that Harris was killed by Neal Falls, who was suspected to have killed up to 8 women but nothing significant came to fruition. Now, several netizens are connecting Harris’ murder to Heuermann’s case who purchased a two-bedroom, two-bathroom condominium in Nevada just a month before Harris's death.

'Rex Heuermann's connection to Las Vegas'

“I wonder if he took a road trip and dropped pieces off in places of it was him (sic)…of course, I’m speculating,” one user claimed, while another wrote, “If that’s the case they need to look into the Lindsay Marie Harris case.” These claims came after Las Vegas authorities announced that they have revived their unresolved cases to determine whether Heuermann is connected to any of them. "We are aware of Rex Heuermann's connection to Las Vegas. We are currently reviewing our unsolved cases to see if he has any involvement,” The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said. The architect is currently facing three counts of first-degree murder and second-degree murder for allegedly killing Melissa Barthelemy, 24, Megan Waterman, 22, and Amber Costello, 27. He is also named the prime suspect in the death of a fourth victim, Maureen Brainard-Barnes.
