Who is Mike Parker?

A resident of Warrenton, Virginia, Mike Parker, is no stranger to the world of reality singing competitions. At the age of 23, Parker auditioned for NBC's 'The Voice' Season 15. After a moving rendition to 'So Sick' by Ne-Yo, Parker immediately grabbed Jennifer Hudson's attention and joined her team. Sadly his journey on 'The Voice; came to an end after he lost to McKenzie Thomas during the knockouts round. Since his departure from the NBC show, Parker moved to Los Angeles and released a handful of singles. It looks like Parker is once again ready to get back onstage and win the 'American Idol' crown.

He gets his musical talent from his parents, but growing up, the focus was always football. Mike became one of the highest ranked high school football players in the nation and received 13 full-ride scholarships. Unfortunately, he did not have the grades to pursue his college football dreams. He started working to get by and it was his parents who helped him realize he needed to get back to his musical roots and take a bold move toward making his dreams come true.

He took to his Instagram to announce that he would be auditioning for the ABC show. "ts been hard keeping this hush-hush😅 But Id love to share that God has blessed me with the opportunity to compete on a stage I used to have REAL dreams of being on.. @americanidol Season Premiere: February, 27th 8pm EST.
